Gentlemen:
I have an extra .577 bpe and would like to offer it here for sale.
Hollis and Son .577, 3-inch chamber, 28-inch barrels, 14 1/2" LOP.

This .577 bpe is a heavy rifle chambered for a 650-grain bullet and 6 drams or 167 grains of black powder. An accurate load of IMR 4198 at 75 grains which shoots a 650-grain to 2x3 inches at 40 yards. The charge and bullet weight are not engraved on the rifle (such as a Holland). However, the weight of this .577 at a bit over 11 1/2 pounds and combined with the accuracy I've achieved with my hand loads, tells me this rifle is regulated for a heavy charge of powder and a heavy bullet.

The best thing about this rifle are the bores--very strong rifling and bright and shiny. The barrels are tight on the face and ring true. I do not have a case for this rifle.

Price is $9250 delivered to your door. No FFL or C&R is required. As long as you can legally own this rifle at the address it is delivered to, I can post it directly via USPS registered and insured mail. As with any rifles I sell from my collection (I'm not a dealer) payment over time is acceptable. That said, time payments (lay-a-way) are considered final and the rifle stays with me until paid for in full.

If you want a heavy and powerful .577 bpe you can't go wrong with this Hollis
Thanks for your consideration.
Cal

Cal,
You are a very bad man:sneaky: I was looking for several years for a 577 BPE. Found one that a dealer was selling for an estate, made him a fair offer, but he thought is was made of gold.. I heard he sold it for 2K less than what I offered. I just bought a 8x57JRS and 45/70 double in the last six months, the rest of the money went into my safari for next year. So now trying to figure out how or what to sell to get this one. Will have to give some serious thought to this.

Have a good day.
Dave

Your words to me pale with what my ex wives have called me! LOL
I can send you more pics and details if you wish to PM me. We can work something out if you are really interested.
Most of the .577 bpe's I've seen are for the 2 3/4" or light 3" loads. This one is a thumper but its weight lessens the recoil. I can send a box of 650-grain bullets if you wish.
Thanks to the rest of you gents for your kind comments.

Sending a PM now

The Hollis .577 is on hold until the evening of Sept 13. (Wed pm).
Thanks all for looking.

My .577 bpe Manton was made for the same 6-dram load but a 570 grain bullet and weighs about 1 pound and a couple ounces less. I like a heavier double and I like this Hollis more than my Manton. However, my Manton has a history of the original owner, is cased, and has a bucket full of original reloading tools and a mould with it.

.577 is SPF.
Thanks for looking, gents.
If any of you folks are looking for something, I have a .450 bpe, a .500 no2 bpe (expensive), a .45 Colt SAA from 1879, and a Cogswell takedown .375 that are looking for a new home.
Cheers, mates.

Cal you are a good man! Even if you do tempt people. Thank you for the help you have given me over the last week.
