Hey guys,

Just curious (going through an old catalogue). It dates to 1903. With inflation, what would 1 guinea be worth today? This has a double rifle as 30 guineas.

Doing a little looking on the net I found that it used to be 21 shillings to a Guinea. There's 20 shillings to a Pound Sterling. So 30 Guineas equals 630 shillings. At 20 shillings/£ = £31.5 . I threw that in an inflation calculator and it claims that rifle costs £ 3798.36 today.
That's what I got, anyway.

That sounds about right from my calculations.

I always thought guinea, crown and pound were synonymous. Neat to learn something new.

Just shy of $5,000 US Dollars. A steal of a deal for a decent double anymore.

So about 3/4 of an average persons yearly income. Fair bit.

Thanks everyone :)

what kind of velocity does the 140 grains list, curious how they would fit in with my current 130 gr, supply of 270s. maybe a pic of the box data listing vel. and drop. Oh and complements on that ammo belt, nice.
