Hi
I’m looking for load data for Hornady 162grn SST’s utilising Vihtavuori 160 powder in 7x57 Mauser.
Thanks

The Vihtavuori manual lists N-160 powder in 7x57 Mauser
with the 160 Sierra SPBT:

Starting load is 45.1 gr. for 2255 fps
Max load is 49.4 gr. for 2539 fps

Also lists the Speer Mag-Tip 175 gr.:

Starting load is 40.6 gr. for 2068 fps
Max load is 45.9 gr. for 2319 fps

This is from a 22" barrel, 1:9 twist rate using LR primers (brand unspecified). Case manufacturer unspecified.

Hornady 10th ed. lists the 162 gr SST and ELD-X with N-160

38.8 grs for 2100 fps
44.6 grs for 2400 fps

Test rifle was a Win M70, 22 inch barrel with 1-10" twist, Win LR primer.

Hi Jay,

Hope you're well.

I'm headed your way in January.

Attending SHOT Show has been a long time bucket list item for me.

Finally made it happen and I'm headed to Vegas.

I know you're some distance from Vegas - but would be keen to catch up if it works out.

Have a good one.

Mark
