JJ Perodeau called me today. He easily opened up my Highland Stalker 275 Rigby to easily accept 175 grain bullets. On my 1906 Rigby 450 NE DR he is doing quite a bit of work. 1. While lock up is tight he fixed ejector. 2. He fixed the barrel space for easy loading of shells. 3. He is regulating the barrels with my 480 grain ammo at 2150 FPS

Excited when he is finished to get both guns back. The 275 for PG and the 450 for another elephant!

Excellent. It sounds like his backlog has decreased? He got on that quickly.

When you say fixed the barrel space, do you mean he increased the angle so that the barrels drop open farther?

And i am surprised a factory 275 will not handle 175gr bullets. In any case, glad you got that sorted out - I ONLY shot 175s in the No. 1 I had and stupidly sold...

I would love to see some pics of your 1906 .450 Rigby..

Getting ready for Namibia next week. 175 NP’s are shooting perfectly.

I did not understand his technical explanation to me…The rifle was hard to open and close when I bought it…he did something to fix that

You can be certain that whatever JJ did was appropriate and technically correct. He is a master and a great person in general.

Interestingly, like a lot of gun guys, he is really into fishing.

She is a simple lady unadorned with any fancy engraving…a proper simple Rigby London hunting rifle

JJ has great respect for T Page Wood the gun maker in Bristol England who made the replacement barrels for the 450 NE. I love the Rigby engraved name on the remaining portions of the rifle. While the estate finally came way down in price to me from their asking price, I will end up spending it back which is absolutely fine restoring her to perfect "mechanical" condition to JJ's standards.

Just moving to DM. Yes, please ask your friend if he knows somebody who might be willing to support a persistent hunt in the snow.
