Uh, no thanks!! Insane!

That’s ridiculous. I never flown through sea-tac, but I find TSA’s response to be crap based on the photos. The line is snaking through the parking lot and yet the longest wait was 60 minutes? Yeah right.

I think they were saying they got it down to an hour, but earlier it had been longer. An hour is too long!

No CLEAR or TSA Precheck? never waited longer than about 5 min.
I dont know how it goes these days. Havent been to an aiport in 5 years!

Yes no way I could wait in a line, I haven't waited longer than a few minutes in years. If you have an Amex plat or Chase Sapphire Reserve card CLEAR and Global Entry which includes TSA Pre are free. Immigration and Customs takes about 30 seconds

Then I guess none of those people had those options.

Yeah I have a friend that was in that mess for 2.5 hrs today and missed her flight.

What is really dumb is that the airlines provide the airport and security folks with their expected passenger arrivals well in advance during the given time frames so that they can plan ahead. And then this happens.....Add staffing or push flights so that the receiving capacity is not overloaded. Someone dropped the ball.

I used to complain about the inconvenience of starting travel from a smaller airport, but the last time i flew from Boise to Roanoke and back I had zero wait at TSA - I don;t complain anymore. i used to live in Seattle and flew out of Sea-Tac many, may times, it was never this bad on the worst day. and they call this progress...

And this is why i am always at the airport 2 hours before my flight. I am always on the frontlines of the queue so i can avoid such drama.

TSA Precheck/Global Entry is the only way to go if you travel a lot. Ive never seen a line like that but early Sunday departures from Vegas can be a zoo with no precheck.
I love traveling so I am always looking for an angle to make it a better experience.

Hi Jay,

Hope you're well.

I'm headed your way in January.

Attending SHOT Show has been a long time bucket list item for me.

Finally made it happen and I'm headed to Vegas.

I know you're some distance from Vegas - but would be keen to catch up if it works out.

Have a good one.

Mark
