Hello All,

Is there a Travel Assist type company, specializing in hunting overseas, within our membership here ?

Seems like I recall one or more such person / company advertising on this forum, in the recent past.

However, evidently I cannot remember the name accurately enough to satisfy my personal computer .... (which at times, I suspect is inhabited by none other than Beelzebub himself).

Evidently, the member's name / company name, is not; "Safari Girl" or "Safari Gal", as I have drawn nothing but a "big zero" on those, when using the Search Box here.

Hopefully it is only my long standing confusion and befuddlement over computers in general and not senility causing me to remember someone who never existed.

In any event, I will appreciate all suggestions in this regard, no matter what the exact name of such Expediter/s any of you can suggest (or suggest that I avoid).

I had used Gracy Travel International in the past with fine success and might just hire them again this time.

However, I just thought I would have a look within our ranks first, before making my final decision.

Cheers,
Velo Dog.

@Velo Dog, Yes it is Lori Spears / @Travel Express (formerly Safari Gal) that you are referring to. She has been on AH almost since the beginning.

Here is more about Lori and her company Travel Express: Our Hunting Travel Specialist on AH: http://www.africahunting.com/threads/our-hunting-travel-specialist-on-ah.2734/.

I'm sure she will appreciate the opportunity. Cheers, Jerome

Thanks Jerome,

I knew it was something like that but, for some reason (probably my lack of computer skills), when I typed in a search here for Safari Gal (among other names and combinations thereof), the eye of Satan (my personal computer) always told me "none found" or words to that affect.

At any rate, I appreciate the clarification here Jerome.

Cheers,
Paul.

velo dog, I have used lori 3 times now on my trips to Africa. Everything has been first rate and saved me money over all the others to. My whole group used her service last trip and she always comes through with a good plan and rate. I highly recommend her for making travel plans to Africa.

I used her in May. She did in 24 hours what I tried to do 4 times in three days and continually failed!!

+1, Travel Express did a great job for me in June also.

Thanks all - it's our "full time" job and Jennifer (daughter-in-law/travel agent) and I work hard to help insure that all runs smooth for you on your adventures!

Thanks Lori, and my PM / inquiry has been sent to you.

Just booked my airfare and hotel for my safari with Lori last week. She was very helpful and made the process very easy!!!! Thanks again Lori

I used Lori and Jen to book my flights to SA and for travel insurance for some upcoming trips at home. Very well done, fast, efficient and the best rates of all. Had to change my res to SA because the first time she had me changing terminals in NYC. I thought about that and promptly decided I did not want to go traipsing through a New York airport dragging anything that even remotely resembled a gun case. Those people are really paranoid! So I called Lori and she rebooked me straight through to Port Elizabeth, SA. I won't have to worry about baggage til I go through customs in Africa.

She is the best!

Lori made it so easy for me on my hunt last year that she has almost convinced me that I need to use a agent for all my flights and not just the ones overseas.

If and when I ever make the trip again I'll be using her services again.

Chopped up the whole thing as I kept hitting the 240 character limit...
Found out the trigger word in the end... It was muzzle or velocity. dropped them and it posted.:)

2,822fps, ES 8.2
This compares favorably to 7 Rem Mag. with less powder & recoil.

*PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS FOR MY RIFLE, ALWAYS APPROACH A NEW LOAD CAUTIOUSLY!!*
Rifle is a Pierce long action, 32" 1:8.5 twist Swan{Au} barrel
{You will want a 1:8.5 to run the heavies but can get away with a 1:9}
Peterson .280AI brass, CCI 200 primers, 56.5gr of 4831SC, 184gr Berger Hybrid.

I know that this thread is more than a year old but as a new member I thought I would pass along my .280AI loading.
I am shooting F Open long range rather than hunting but here is what is working for me and I have managed a 198.14 at 800 meters.
That is for 20 shots. The 14 are X's which is a 5" circle.
