Do any of you guys use a trail camera? Either from the client or PH? I have been a trail camera guy for several years stateside and each trip i take a camera with me. I have some pretty neat pictures as well! Anyone else?

Tom, I use them with great success. I would like to buy the ones with the integral little screen next time I am in the US though, as it should make life considerably easier than changing SD cards.
Here are a few pics that you might enjoy:

Tom, my outfitter over there had 2 of the really nice IR-Stealth Cams.

Trailcam pictures.

Hi Tom,

We use them extensively for Bushpig. It helps to determine the time they come in to bait and also to identify them.

Resurrecting a pretty old thread here.
What trail camera's are people using that give good definition?

Especially for cats at night and others.
Mine are ok, but looking for info on newer better models.
No cellular or wifi network capability needed.

They all very similar (quite crap)
Have tried many different brands over years
Spypoint is simplest and easiest to operate and are quite hardy
I found moultrie etc ok but dont last in african temps

Been using Bushnells for ten years. Have tried a few others. Spypoints were the worst, Many DOA in the box.

In total, I have left 4 Browning tail cams in the Eastern Cape. Warren will whatsapp me photos about once every ten days with pics. This is from a camera that has been in the field continuously for 5 years or more.

I run a timberland security business in Oregon and use quite a few cams. I like Browning but just today deployed a budget priced Moultrie to test it.

Many PH’s use trail cameras now so I’m going to take extra SD cards and swap them out with the outfitters cards so I can bring them home without the hassle of taking my own.

I agree and Spypoint is the worst. Their warranty starts the day they leave the factory. Not that their warranty is worth a dam anyway. Also the screens go pink by the second season.

Thanks for the feedback
I was looking at the Bushnell Prime cameras and the Bushbell Core DS-4K. they seem to be ok from the reviews and write ups.

I have used the $100 dollar Bushnells for many years. The newer ones are quite good. I use chip types and check every 6 weeks or so after deer and elk go hard horned.

Hi Jay,

Hope you're well.

I'm headed your way in January.

Attending SHOT Show has been a long time bucket list item for me.

Finally made it happen and I'm headed to Vegas.

I know you're some distance from Vegas - but would be keen to catch up if it works out.

Have a good one.

Mark
