Dear Fellow Enthusiast,

We are often asked, "What items should I bring on safari?" Well, in addition to an accurate rifle/scope and appropriate ammunition, here are our top three essentials:

A good, comfortable pair of all-leather boots (without a lining to trap moisture) will help keep your feet dry so you can stay on the spoor all day long. Top them with quiet, durable leather gaiters to keep annoying seeds out of your socks. [Shop Footwear]

Take the ones that you have been practicing with at home. Accurate shot placement is not only your responsibility but will make sure you do not spend days tracking down wounded game. As an added benefit, there is not a PH over there that would not appreciate you leaving them behind after your trip as part of a small token of your appreciation. [Shop Shooting Sticks]

Permetherin clothing treatment and Picardin bug Repellent create a solid 1-2 barrier to make sure that you enjoy your trip to the fullest. Ticks and biting insects can be a real issue in Africa-especially when you are taking pictures with your animals and the ticks are looking for a new host. Permethin will keep bugs off your clothing and Picaridin will keep them off exposed areas. In addition, it lasts 14 hours versus 8 hours for DEET and is much more effective versus tse tse flies. Hi Jay,

Hope you're well.

I'm headed your way in January.

Attending SHOT Show has been a long time bucket list item for me.

Finally made it happen and I'm headed to Vegas.

I know you're some distance from Vegas - but would be keen to catch up if it works out.

Have a good one.

Mark
