Tiny 10 - Which ones are the hardest to get?

I believe there are a few that have, Tom Miranda I believe is one.
I would like to know how many have completed this with a bow as well.
It is a goal of mine, I have the duiker and klipspringer so far.

In Niassa with Kambako Safaris I shot Sharpe Grysbok , Red Duiker, and Suni. I told Deron Ellerman my ph I was looking for good trophies. Hopefully Rowland Ward!! He said for the Sharps Grysbok-“if you really want one I would shoot the first male we see irregardless of size”. Turned out it was the only one we saw. We actually only got a shot at one of each! Hunters luck made them all Rowland Ward. We saw several Suni and Red Duiker females. Hunting in daylight is no sure thing for these critters-that’s for sure.

If you don’t mind me asking where did you get your kilpspringer?

I’m actually looking for a kilpspringer, blue duiker and Vaal or cape graysbok with bow.

If going for all 10 with the bow, I think a Klippie will prove to be the most difficult as shot distances are often long.

If one is just trying to hunt them we’ll all eventually have one that proves to be a little tougher than the rest. For many I think it’ll be the Sharpe’s Grysbok due to their elusiveness and somewhat limited range. This is one you should often take once seen regardless if you’re looking for one, and one where I wouldn’t advise being super picky. For many the Suni is often times last because of their limited and costly permits in South Africa. Many hunters (myself included) will plan a safari into Mozambique to chase them, whereas if I’d started in Mozambique it’s very possible to take as many as 6 or 7 in a single trip.

I just got back from another T10 hunt and will be posting a hunt report this weekend. There are a lot of statements of this one or that one IS the hardest but it's all a matter of access. Some say the Sharpe's is hardest but if you go to the right place you can get one in the first 2 hours. That's the problem...what is the right place for the different 10? I agree that Moz is one of the best places to get over half of them in just 1 trip. It's the best place for Suni due to permitting issues in South Africa. I thought the oribi was going to be hard but with a permit, it was super easy. That doesn't mean it will be easy for the next guy but that was my experience.

The right answer is finding the outfitter that has the right access and/or permits. If you include a top 12 to include mountain reedbuck and Vaal rhebok, I would say the most technical shooting will be for them and most likely the vaalie being the hardest. They are incredibly skittish and LONG shots in windy conditions are usually required. When they see you at 300+ meters, that is too CLOSE for their comfort and they will run. You need some luck to get the right wind and setup where you catch them by surprise and it will still be one of the longer shots you take in Africa.

Hello,

Am I reading your post correctly to say that the Tsavo rifle will be coming out with a composite stock later this year? I ask because I had been looking very hard for a Tsavo, but if there is going to be a composite stock model I will wait for that.

Thank you for your time,

Andrew

Saw your post. Nice. Denver too. Genesee area (just off 70) if ever up this way. Alternatively, do you have a membership at GGC? Whatever, you'll have a wonderful time in Africa. Enjoy.
