ok before I post this and people jump all over me this was a rare special circumstance. He was born in transit on the trailer. When he got here mom took off and if I didn't do something he wouldn't make it through the night sooooo...... Everyone meet little Timmy the axis deer.
We do everything possible to avoid any contact with our animals which are most assuredly wild. I can't in good conscience just let him die. My wife and kids would try and turn him into a pet which would not be good so the game warden who is a friend of mine took him home to bottle feed. As soon as he is big enough to fend for himself he'll be released to be all the axis deer he can be.
