While I’m know double expert, Ralf Martini is very well respected. I have called him for advice on numerous occasions and he has always been very helpful and transparent. He is retiring and moving back to Germany so he’s getting rid of a lot of stuff. If you call him and ask him about the rifle I would be shocked if he was anything other than very forthcoming about it.

While I’m no expert, my Heym 88B in 500NE came from Ralf. He is a gentleman and very knowledgeable. I spoke with him several times on the phone and he was very easy to deal with. It was a consignment gun. He handled setting everything up with the exporter (Borderview) and made the process easy. They have to mark their name on the rifle to import it and he made sure it was very small and unnoticeable (on the bottom barrel rib). Unless you knew where to look, you’d never see the small font. I don’t know much about the rifle, but Ralf is a class act.

While I know nothing about the rifle that will aid in your decision, I do believe that the maker has a most excellent first name!

Beautiful looking rifle. 23” barrels should make it handle well and the weight should soak up a fair bit of recoil. Would happily own it myself (but I’m no expert in doubles).

If you dont mind importing from Europe this sidelock is, if I recall correctly, about the same price and has been sitting there for a couple of years.

That’s a nice rifle & regulated ok with that load, May do better with load work ?

While I love the .458Win it’s place is not in a Double Rifle, the price is reasonable being in CAD & I think it could possibly be rechambered to .450NE it would then be a very nice rig .

Not too keen on the .458Lotts stock style but again a nice rifle ?

You might have edited your post on the PH in the Bubye. I know the PH and is a wonderful person and a fmaily man and runs a succesful business in Zim and just doesn't want the attention that the internet offers, the ugly kind.

Hello,

Am I reading your post correctly to say that the Tsavo rifle will be coming out with a composite stock later this year? I ask because I had been looking very hard for a Tsavo, but if there is going to be a composite stock model I will wait for that.

Thank you for your time,

Andrew

Saw your post. Nice. Denver too. Genesee area (just off 70) if ever up this way. Alternatively, do you have a membership at GGC? Whatever, you'll have a wonderful time in Africa. Enjoy.
