The .358 Norma

If someone would make some high BC 250 grain 35 Caliber bullets, they would sell by the truckload. The main limitation on 35 Cal is that all you can really get is a flat based generic bullet. It's fine...but it could be a lot better with better projectiles.

If Barnes would load or make one of their ELR bullets...game changer.
Hammer makes a 255 with a listed bc of .551. Their load data have them running it up to 2900 fps. We run it at 2700 with a mild load of 6.5 staball (need long brass life) and it shoots one hole groups.

@AckleyHunter
Why not make some 358 mag brass out of son 7mm mag brass and save the Norma brass for os hunts.
That way you can see what those 225gn Hammer bullets will do at full throttle.
At 2,900 fps you are only running them at Whelen velocities. They will still hit hard tho.

Luckily I just bought a bag of new brass from Raven Rock, so when I take the norma to Africa I will have the proper headstamps. The sponsors/vendors here are great.

I make 358 norma brass from 375 h&h. Picked up the redding form and trim die. Anneal, resize, trim to length, square case mouth, then fire form with some pistol powder, grits as filler, and paper towel, full length resize, trim again if needed, and load.

Have been using Nosler brass. Wouldn't recommend it for people making norma or just using it as 375 h&h. About 5-8% of the cases won't hold a primer. Rare miss form Nosler.

An excellent AH member right here! I had a fantastic transaction with Hornedfrogbbq (I was the seller). His communication was first rate, payment was extremely fast, and I would have absolutely no reservations at all dealing with him again. Thank you, F!
Here we are, the last day of the show in Denver, it's been a good show but expecting a quiet day today. I will be back for-sure to do this show next year and maybe also do the one in Sacramento California.

On Monday I will be hitting the road driving from Denver and eventually make it down to Atlanta for the flight home.

its going to be a good year!

Hi Rem280, Saw your post on getting selected for Idaho Elk. Do you have a zone(s) selected? I live in N Idaho, might be able to offer some ideas.

Cheers,

Craig
