Doug trained me at FTW when I went to their SAAM course, so this is pretty cool. That's a heck of a long shot....

Hi Royal, My son whom you met in Dallas, worked in New Braunfels, TX just a week or two after the DSC show. He spent a couple of hours at the Hill Country shop talking about this and other rifle things. He and his hunting buddy who was at the show also, are now putting together a 1 mile range in the NE Arkansas farm country to try their hand with their 6.5 Creedmore Ruger rifles. Not the same as 2 miles, but a long way never the less. They are both from that area originally and know all of the farmers. Not for me, but would be interesting to watch them do it some day.

Tim, you met them too. Young and full of vinegar!

Most impressive!

wow!

Very very impressive!

I went to the S.A.A.M long range and dangerous shooting school.
The best of the best..... and great people....
Congrats for achieving your goal....

Those HCR guys are pretty dang good too. At Tim Fallon's suggestion I had them go overmy .375 H&H as it was rough as a cobb... It is a smooth shooting sub MOA rifle now.

Shooting at a mile would be fun for sure. I'd love to get into long range shooting, but the only thing close is 700 yards, really short stuff.... ;)

I did the DG course and want to go back at some point for the long range course. Those guys are truly the best. And as you say, great people.

What a great way to kick off our 2025 hunting season in South Africa.

This beautiful Impala ram was taken at just over 300 yards, took a few steps and toppled over.

We are looking forward to the next week and a half of hunting with our first client of the year.

Do you have any more copies of African Dangerous Game Cartridges, Author: Pierre van der Walt ? I'm looking for one. Thanks for any information, John [redacted]
