At last! Good news!

Dodoma — The government is planning to assess 12 game controlled areas (GCA) that no longer qualify for the wild life protection so that arrangements would be made to release them for public use.

This was said by the deputy minister for Natural Resources and Tourism, Mr Josephat Hasunga, in the Parliament on Wednesday May 2.

This will be conducted through the Tanzania Wildlife Research Institute (Tawiri). The assessment will involve hunting plots as well.

He was responding to a question by Biharamuro West Member of Parliament Oscar Mukasa, who sought to know if the government had started the process of releasing the disqualified GCA's to local government authorities.

"It's a cross-cutting process that involves the Ministry of Agriculture and that of Livestock and Fisheries, this is to make sure that the land in question will be put to proper use," said the deputy minister.

Thanks for sharing.

I dont really know what this means. What causes the land to lose its status?

Hunting Outfitters turning the concessions over to the government as they are no longer profitable as hunting areas.

Note the long time Outfitters shutting the doors. Multiple announcements on the subject.

Now they will be open for trophy grazing.

I doubt there will be any stories about the Lions being poisoned, Elephants poached or plains game being snared because no anti poaching teams will be there to report on it.

Hi Lance, Hope you well. I collect Mauser rifles and they are very much part of my cultural history in Africa. Would you consider selling the rifle now a year on ? I'd like to place it in my collection of Mauser rifles. Many thx

I saw where you hunted elephant with backcountry safaris in Zimbabwe.
Was looking to book an elephant hunt and wanted to know how your hunt went
and if you would recommend them.

Thanks
Mike
hi, do you know about lions hunters, leopard hunters, and crocodiles hunters of years 1930s-1950s
I'm new to Africa Hunting. I would like to purchase a Heym 450-400 double rifle. I'm left-handed but would prefer a non-canted gun. Is anyone in the community considering parting with theirs?
