SWIFT AFRAME .375 H&H 300 GRAIN OR 250. ? ....MOOSE ARE MY TARGET ANIMAL ANY ADVICE?

I recommend first turning off the caps lock :cool:and then if you already have both sizes, use whichever shoot better in your gun

If your choosing from scratch without any bullets in hand, I'd recommend 250 grain for slight recoil reduction

I know people that kill them with 308 168grain bullets in Maine though the majority there use a 300 win mag for moose with a 180-200 gr bullet.

Ha I do apologize the caps was for attention

I shoot 300 gr SAF in my gun. I tried some 250 gr Hornady GMX, which were very accurate but grouped about 5 inches higher than the A Frames. For that reason I just standardized on the 300 gr SAF.

I shot my Alaskan moose with my 338 WM with 225 gr SAF.

The 250 grain will shoot flatter of you want more range. Or if you expect to be in heavy brush you'd probably be better off with the 300 grain.

Either will act like the Hammer of Thor on a moose, or a bear for that matter;)

Less recoil on a 250?

The lighter weight bullet will generate slightly less recoil although in the heat of the moment you likely wouldn’t notice so go with most accurate from your gun would be my thought. Both generate plenty of energy I’d think.

I would use 270 grain or 300.

I used 250gr ttsx and it had plenty of oomphf

Whatever shoots better.

My last 10 bulls were with a 200 grain FTX bullet fired from a .338 Marlin Express. My last non-.338 ME bull was my largest (60ish inches) and I killed him with a .35 Remington.

as has already been said, any weight in a 375 will kill a moose..

for me.. I only shoot 300gr in mine... that takes care of everything from impala to cape buffalo.. and would also be used on moose (if I were inclined to use my 375 on one).. with 1 load I only have to manage 1 zero for hunting anything I take the 375 out for from 0-200 yards (never tried to shoot it any further than that)..

I’ve only shot two moose, one on the Alaska Peninsula with a 150 grain Core Lokt from a .270 and one in Wyoming with a 100 grain Thunderhead broad head. Both fell dead quickly.

I'm probably a bad example! :ROFLMAO:
