I would like to take my suppressor to Africa next year. I realize that the only problem is here in the states getting it in and out of. This is my third one time trip to Africa if you know what I mean . If anybody has any tips on how to get it there I’d like to hear about it.

Can't help you with out of the state's but South Africa easiest not to mention it as there are no restrictions on suppressors ....

One suggestion is have your PH order one with your threading and have it in camp ...

Silent Hunter suppressors are excellent and very inexpensive ... approx 200 usd for less.

Of course dont be tempted to take it back with you unless you have lots of soap on a rope

I’ve taken one to South Africa. No problem at all. I had mine put on a form 4457 along with the firearm I was taking. It was never even questioned. Good luck on your trip.

Did you pack it in check bag or in your rifle case and did the TSA ask to see your paper work?

I put it in the case with the rifle. The SAPS agents never even looked at it and the customs guys in the states really didn’t pay it much attention either. You should be fine but very smart for asking up front.

I assume you flew out of Atlanta that’s where I’m flying out of. I’ve flown out of DC and New York and both had different rules on traveling with rifles (bolt in bolt out) so that’s why I ask. thank you

Yes I flew out of Atlanta which through the years I have learned that it is one of the easier domestic airports to navigate with firearms. Seems like every other one I’ve been through always seems to find something to fuss about.

Jerome, do you think my last post in rough camping must maybe shift as an article?

Good afternoon,

I'm trying to get in contact with Mr Butch Searcy. I have the opportunity to buy one of his rifles chambered in 577 nitro Express however the seller does not have any of the paperwork with the information about what ammunition or bullet weight was used to regulate it. I know he is not making firearms anymore but I wanted to reach out after seeing one of your post about him.

Hi - the only (best) method of sending you the .375/06IMP data is with photographing my book notes. My camera died so the only way I can do it is with my phone. To do that, I would need your e-mail address, as this
new Android phone is too complicated to upload to my desk computer, which would be easier and to down-grade, reduce the file sizes.
Best wishes
Daryl
