I have started shooting some sporting clays and tired of renting golf carts to get around the course. Did some research on the inter web and found some discussions around converting baby joggers. Carts built for this purpose run around $5-600, ouch. Picked up a used jogger for $40 bucks, piece of 3/4 conduit, some Maker Pipe connections for the gun holder rails, paint to match, and the gun holders (most expensive part). Have about $175 total in it. Purchased the shotgun from @CrippledEagle here on AH. Sorry messy garage, two kids buying houses and dad has too many projects going on but some are more important .

I've seen all manner of sporting clays push carts built, and yours looks like a good one. Only thing missing is a cup holder of some type. I shoot in the cold snowy winter, so hot chocolate/coffee ☕ is nice, and ice tea in the summer is the ticket.

Good shooting. :D

Conversions like yours are very common in NTX among the HS competitive shooters… I used to see dozens of them every weekend at the various ranges getting pushed around when my youngest daughter was shooting competitively… some of them got downright fancy..

Another common conversion (and affordable) I see is the little collapsible cloth wagons like you can buy at academy for going to the beach or pulling stuff around to work on the lawn… people will mount racks for their guns on the sides, and then compartment off the interior to fit a small cooler on one end, a flat of ammo on the other, and the put their shooting bag with all of their chokes, tools, etc on top…

We did the wagon conversion for a little while, and then just started bringing our Polaris 570 side by side to the shoots… it was a PIA to load up the SxS onto the trailer and haul it all over the state weekend after weekend… but having a mobile shade device and 4 person and gear people hauler available was awfully nice once we got there and started shooting..

Plugging a little misting fan into the 12v plug on the dash was a nice perk for April, May, and June shoots at the end of season too lol…

Made my own from a running stroller that was given to me and some ATV gun mounts. Although you really have a nice setup with how the shotguns are mounted. I elected to keep the cup holders. ;)

I always assumed the trap club was hoity toity. These strollers are proving me otherwise.

I love the ingenuity

There is some money at the NSCA events from $40k SXS to drive around and high end shotguns at $10k plus but all fun for me. If you got it run it. Most courses are less than 1.5 miles total so I can get my steps in at the same time. Quite a few walkers so that gave me the idea.

It absolutely can be… I’ve seen countless 16 year olds being toted around by their parents driving $60k custom side by sides, shooting $15k custom competition guns, only loading them with premium competition ammo, etc while wearing $2k in gear ranging from pro grade ear pro to pro grade shell bags…

But for every one of those kids, there are a dozen that are pushing converted baby strollers, shooting the most affordable ammo they can find, out of an A300 or some other entry level gun, etc…

It’s an expensive sport, even if you’re purposely trying to do it on the cheap.. range fees and ammo alone will set you back $100+ just for a practice day… by the time you invest in a quality gun, some quality gear, etc you’re in for at least a few grand before you ever pull the trigger…

I’d guess we spent $8-$10k each year our daughter competed just in travel, tournament fees, and equipment, etc.. and that doesn’t include the thousands upon thousands of shells she shot each year in practice and in competition…

I was given a jogging stroller like this however we are still using it with my daughter. When she outgrows it, I will be asking some of you for your tips and tricks on this conversion!

You could take her with you now, and just have the shotty strapped beside her!

I’m still married and would like to keep it that way!
We just finally sold our stroller after it sat in the garage for three or four years. I guess I should have kept it

When I first started shooting sporting clays in the mid 80's you put your shells, water, perhaps a towel in canvas bag threw your gun over your shoulder and spent the day with your friends walking talking and shooting. Now 40 years later still do the same

Hi Lance, Hope you well. I collect Mauser rifles and they are very much part of my cultural history in Africa. Would you consider selling the rifle now a year on ? I'd like to place it in my collection of Mauser rifles. Many thx

I saw where you hunted elephant with backcountry safaris in Zimbabwe.
Was looking to book an elephant hunt and wanted to know how your hunt went
and if you would recommend them.

Thanks
Mike
hi, do you know about lions hunters, leopard hunters, and crocodiles hunters of years 1930s-1950s
I'm new to Africa Hunting. I would like to purchase a Heym 450-400 double rifle. I'm left-handed but would prefer a non-canted gun. Is anyone in the community considering parting with theirs?
