The Kiwi couple…

1654599141012.jpeg

Off to a great start. After picking up our clients we headed to camp, it was already dark but still early. On our way there, we started spotting different game and we where lucky enough to see an African wild cat trying to stalk a Jameson’s red rock rabbit and even an elephant…

We decided to make a specie list of all the animals we saw excluding most birds and we ended up with a whole bunch of animals on the list. Hunting in Limpopo on a big free-range area, we managed to see the following:
  • Black-backed jackal
  • Kudu
  • African wild cat
  • Blue wildebeest
  • Impala
  • Warthog
  • Sable
  • Elephant
  • Giraffe
  • Waterbuck
  • Bat eared fox
  • Duiker
  • Zebra
  • Bushbuck
  • Buffalo
  • Baboon
  • Tsessebe
  • Hippo
  • Water monitor
  • Spotted bush snake
  • Common Reedbuck
  • Bushpig
  • Klipspringer
  • Crocodile
  • Oryx
  • Blesbuck
  • Nyala
  • Scrub hare
  • Red rock rabbit
  • Small spotted Genet
  • Ostrich
  • Porcupine
  • Springbuck
  • Dwarf mongoose
  • Tree squirrel
  • Ground squirrel
  • Eland
  • Steenbuck
  • Mountain reedbuck
  • Red Hartebeest
  • Vervet monkey
  • Slender mongoose
  • Roan antelope
  • Serval
  • Banded mongoose
  • Bushbaby
South Africa has allot of beauty. Our biodiversity is one of them, and we are fortunate to hunt in areas like these. Not only did we get to spotting al these animals, but we also went on to get some great quality trophies as well. We ended up with Bushpig, Duiker, Impala, Warthog, Nyala and a Kudu!

Congrats on the hunt! Thanks for sharing.

Those hunters took some nice trophies. The kudu, nyala and bushpig were very nice.

The smiles always tell the tale better than any words. Nice Kudu.

Thank you, he was quite an old bull, all worn down and his left eye seemed to be going blind...

Thank you! The bushpig just adds some night hunting and a different aspect to the hunt!

Congrats to the hunters, outfitter and PH! Those are some classy animals that were taken. That kudu and warthog!

But I had to go look up what a “bushbaby” is exactly!

Congratulations all around, some very nice trophies taken. Well done and thanks for posting.

That couple seemed to ‘immediately immerse in the moment & live the experience’ from the pick-up to the tailing moments of the hunt … nice & as it should be.

I hunted elephant with Luke Samaris in 2005. It was my fourth safari and I tell you he is a fine gentleman the best. I got the opportunity to meet Patty Curtis, although never hunted with him but enjoyed our conversation around our tent in the Selous. Very sad for a tough guy to leave this world the way he did. Let’s pray the murderers are caught. I hope to see Luke in Nashville.
