I have just returned home from my first hunting trip to South Africa; a 7 day plains game hunt in the Limpopo region just south of the Botswana border. I hunted with Louis van Bergen of Spiral Horn Safaris. To say that I am pleased would be an understatement. The service and accommodations was first class. The value for the dollar outstanding. Thanks to Louis I came home with a 23.5 Impala, 35 Gemsbok bull, 28 Waterbuck, 28.5 Blue Wildebeest, and 25 Nyala. (All were taken with a 7x57 borrowed from the PH) I have been informed that 4 of these are potential record book material. But most importantly, I came home with a heart full of memories and a new friend. Email me for pictures at garyo732att.net.

Verrrrrry nice looking animals, good job! Glad you liked it. Did you get a chance to do any sightseeing like up at the Mapungebwe National Park which is on the Limpopo? Beautiful place.

Excellent animals Gary. I would love to see more pictures. Louis truly runs a top notch outfit. When will you be going back?

Gary O

Looks like you had a successful safari...

What kind of mounts are you looking at having done?

Congrats, those are some nice animals.

Congratulations Gary, very nice trophies.
Louis, this Nyala must not have been the happy wanderer on Buffelsvlei? Hope he is still doing well.

Congrats GaryO those are some fine Trophies sounds like you had a great time.

Thank you for a great time Gary you used that 7x57 very well!;)

BRICKBURN the Nyala was taken on a neighboring property my bull is still out there.

Best Regards
Louis van Bergen

Awesome animals...thanks for the report.

That is a fantastic impala, by the way! Love the heavy bases and shape of the horns.

Thanks for sharing your hunt report GaryO!

I can't get the video to work. I clicked on the link and didn't really get anywhere. But, then again, i'm not the most tech savvy.

Tom, You either will need to download the free QuickTime Player plugin that runs the video on AH otherwise the player may need your permission to run on your browser. Most browsers and computers already have this plugin installed and configured...

Nice trophys, I hunted near there with Faun Africa in march. Finally got my pictures down loaded to the site.

Nice little video. Thanks for the help Jerome.

Hi Lance, Hope you well. I collect Mauser rifles and they are very much part of my cultural history in Africa. Would you consider selling the rifle now a year on ? I'd like to place it in my collection of Mauser rifles. Many thx

I saw where you hunted elephant with backcountry safaris in Zimbabwe.
Was looking to book an elephant hunt and wanted to know how your hunt went
and if you would recommend them.

Thanks
Mike
hi, do you know about lions hunters, leopard hunters, and crocodiles hunters of years 1930s-1950s
I'm new to Africa Hunting. I would like to purchase a Heym 450-400 double rifle. I'm left-handed but would prefer a non-canted gun. Is anyone in the community considering parting with theirs?
