South-Africa, Namibia, Mozambique and Botswana
Nothing compares to hunting these open areas.
Miles and miles of acreage before you see a fence,
being surrounded by African greatness,
Coming across a pack of wild dogs while searching for fresh elephant track,
Hearing the roar of the lions from a tented camp at night,
Sitting around the campfire telling each other hunting tales and growing in friendship with one another over mutual respect, love for hunting and maybe a whiskey or two,
Tracking a giant elephant with the African sun beating down on your skin,
Watching the sunset over a watering hole filled with hippo while sharing the exceptional days events of hunting on foot.

This adequately sums up our recent hunt in the open system of South Africa. A group of men, two best friends and their sons joined came down from Namibia on their private aircraft to hunt elephant. We took some incredible trophies and the young man of the group had the exceptional privilege of hunting his first elephant with his father.

There is definitely a ever increasing desire to hunt like the hunting pioneers did before us, open, wild and untamed. Good thing That's Africa Safaris holds rights to hunt on these exclusive and much sought after African gems.

The camp is basic but the desire to hunt in these areas overshadows the need for luxury.

There is a generator and gas providing energy requirements. No cell phone reception or wifi, but we go to base camp for this.

It was a very special hunt for both Father and Son.

"braaivleis" done to perfection over the coals on the open wood-burning fire.
Coffee in the morning is made again on the coals of the open fire and served with a traditional South African freshly baked rusk

getting ready for some hunting, lioness seen in the mud
discussing the best approach...

Will post the rest a little bit later...

Can I ask if elephant hunting permits are available for non residents? I heard a few years ago that the permits were only for RSA citizens.

Good day SRvet
Yes, permits are being issued for non-residents.
In July of last year, we got permission from the local authorities that they will issue permits for no residents but only as non-exportable trophies. We are hopeful that they will become exportable for this coming season but only time will tel.

That is really interesting, thanks for the reply. Can you give me a rough idea of costs for such a hunt please.

Good day
Thank you for every one that has enquired about this hunt.
I have sent out private messages to all.
Kind regards
Valie Enslin

Part 2,
We are very thankful for all the interest on this most. I believe I have emailed everyone or direct messaged those who enquired and requested more information.

I will be adding some more photo's throughout the week of other elephant hunts it just takes so long due to our wifi which is snails pace.

Happy hunting everyone!

What a great way to kick off our 2025 hunting season in South Africa.

This beautiful Impala ram was taken at just over 300 yards, took a few steps and toppled over.

We are looking forward to the next week and a half of hunting with our first client of the year.

Do you have any more copies of African Dangerous Game Cartridges, Author: Pierre van der Walt ? I'm looking for one. Thanks for any information, John [redacted]
NRA benefactor, areas hunted, add congo, Mozambique3, Zambia2
Out of all the different color variations of Impala the black Impala just stands out with its beautiful pitch black hide.

Impala is one of the animals you will see all over Africa.
You can see them in herds of a 100 plus together.

This excellent ram was taken with one of our previous client this past season.
