I hunted with Louis from spiralhorn safari. I'm very happy to say i had a great hunt . He understands the limitations of a traditional hunter .
His blinds are well set up and i understand some elevated stands are in the works.
My first african game was an impala. It was truly exciting, i haven't shaken like that for many years.

On the second day, i had a nice kudu bull come by the blind but wouldn't commit. The following day, he came in a presented a shot. I was fortunate to get myself a nice kudu.

Congratulations jeanpaul3006.
Great impala. What an experience to hunt with the bow. Nice to have that fever back.
Can't wait to hear more about your hunt.

Sweet Kudu bull. Keep the info and pics coming.

The following day, we pulled an all day sit. About an hour before dark, we spotted a herd bedded about 150 yards away. They finally lifted and walked off and we thought our opportunity was done.
We called for the truck. Then suddenly they were coming to the water. Tried calling off the truck, but no response.
The bull was on the right side but presented no shot. Then he went on the left side of the pond.We had to trade windows. Now a calf was in the way. Finally , he was broadside , and the arrow was starting to slip off my fingers when he quartered. Only had time to correct with my bow arm and the shot was off. The arrow went through the abdomen angling towards the heart.
The wildebeest was found about 150 metres away.

Good stuff! Spiral Horn is a great outfit. I've hunted with them twice myself!

We hadn't been seeing any gemsbok. So we had to improvise. Louis knew of a pair that travelled on the west side of the property. No room for a blind, so a stand was hung. Actually a plank, but it worked well.

Louis had spotted a wounded impala that had an infection. So that was the last animal i shot in africa. I had a great experience and learned a lot bout the animals and fauna. A great trip. In a couple of years, hope to go back.

Congrats, looks like you did some good shooting. That Impala sure looks like it has heavy bases.

Jean Paul, congrats on your hunt, looks like you had a great time and with the bow. Time now to chase those Manitoba whitetails with that bow!

Awesome save!!!

Louis must have been watching the London Olympics, .....?
Nothing like improvisation.

Congratulations on all your trophies and thanks for sharing.
We should send this to Louis' insurance company. :)

Great animals and sounds like a great trip, congrates:clap:

Already wanting to go back. There's a nyala out there with my name on it. Prepping for the whitetail season, will be my son's first hunting season. I'm getting pretty excited.

We were quite the sight, two grown men on a plank in a tree full of thorns. It's a hunt i won't soon forget. Louis will go the extra mile for his client. I don't know how many ph would have climbed that tree.

Glad you had a great trip, Louis is just the best I had a ball with him in May, so congrats on a good story and nice pics

Thanks for the hunt report! Some really nice animals!

Thanks for posting your bowhunting report and pictures jeanpaul3006!

Thanks for the report and pic Jeanpaul as always Louis has done a great job for his clients. Congrats on some fine Trophies.

Chopped up the whole thing as I kept hitting the 240 character limit...
Found out the trigger word in the end... It was muzzle or velocity. dropped them and it posted.:)
