My wife and I along with 3 other couples just finished up a trip of a lifetime (God willing, just may have to start planning a 2nd trip of a lifetime) with Wik and his amazing team at @GAME 4 AFRICA SAFARIS. It was the first African hunting safari for all of us except one of us in our group. For the wives, this would be their 1st hunting trip of any kind. In the early stages of planning, my wish was that my wife would at least tag along with me one of the days and experience "the hunt" and then after success have a picture taken with her in it. I ended up getting my wish x10!

Planning of this trip started nearly a year ago. We decided to use Jennifer at Express Travel for booking flights and help with tours and accommodations in Cape Town and it proved to be a great decision! Due to mechanical issues with 1st plane and then a missed connection, she was able to reroute us and get us to East London on time and not miss any days of hunting. THANK YOU Jennifer! Since this was our first safari, we had many questions and Wik was eager to answer them, communication was prompt and thorough. Early on, one of the wives stated she was "all in" for shooting her first animal. Subsequently, through peer pressure and gentle persuasion, my wife and sister in law decided they too would attempt to join the "hunting family". We all got together multiple times in the months leading up to the trip to practice shooting and they did great!

All eight of us started the hunt at south camp for the first four days. The accommodations/private chalets were fantastic. We all loved being able to observe the many kinds of animals in the field right from our rooms and gathering around the fire pit each evening sharing our adventures of the day.

As for the food, it too was excellent! At first, the wives were a little hesitant about the idea of eating wild game, but Wik made sure to let them know they would have their choice of whatever they preferred. After the first meal served with some springbuck fillets, wild game was "fully endorsed" and thoroughly enjoyed by all for the rest of the trip!

We (including the ladies) ended up taking many trophies here.

On day 5, the ladies flew to Cape Town to do some wine tasting, shopping and take in the sites and us guys traveled to the North camp to experience some beautiful mountainous terrain for the last 3 days of the hunt. Success continued!

To sum up the hunting, it was incredible! The ranches were very large with diverse terrain from coastal hills to the Kramberg mountain ranch in the north, all with a large variety of quality game!

Most importantly, at least from my perspective are the people you share the hunt with. I was fortunate enough to hunt with Wik, Don and Jono and all were top notch PH's whose knowledge about the animals and terrain, ability to spot game and hunting skills were excellent! They were ethical, honest, hard working and just plain fun to hunt with! One of the things I was most grateful for was how comfortable and at ease they made the ladies feel being it was their first hunt ever. They were patient, teaching and talking them through the process of locating, stalking and ultimately pulling the trigger on the correct animal when the time was right. They also explained to them how through proper management and conservation, the opportunity to hunt these beautiful animals will continue to be there for generations to come. In the end, 11 animals were taken by the ladies! A dream come true! (I'm curious now what kind of rifle my wife "needs" for her birthday;)?) Needless to say, we were truly blessed and could not have asked for a better hunting Safari!

Wonderful hunt report! I’m glad you and your group had such a wonderful experience! Some very nice trophies!

I hunted with Wik back in ‘22, top notch outfitter, great area, great accommodations, I hope to return one day!

Congratulations to all in the group! So glad to hear that everyone enjoyed the trip as well as having more hunters joining our ranks. Those are some very nice animals. I personally love that bushbuck as well as the blue wildebeest. The hides on both are stunning. And the horns are great as well. Thanks for sharing your trip with us.

Another great report about a first class outfit. Glad your spouses joined in!
Love the deep curls on that Kudu!
Welcome to the site.

I feel so blessed that the wife and I had our first and only safari so far with Wik and his team/family. Wonderful people who make everyone comfortable and welcome. If I ever had one of my friends want to make a trip with spouses I would be with Wik no question.

Thank you for sharing. I am glad you had a great trip.

Getting your wives to join in on the hunts is something very special. You gentlemen are blessed.

As for what rifle you wife will need for the next safari. Just bite the bullet so to speak and get a 22, 7x57, and a 9.3x62 that are fit to her. Else you will loose SEVERAL out of your side of the safe that will be purloined by your better half, as you wok the stock to make the rifle fit her. Just ask me how I know:Facepalm:

Congratz!!! on a great first safari. Now time to start planning #2

Congrats and thanks for sharing! Some great trophies ya'll got!

So glad you all had a great trip. My wife and I are headed to Game4africa in April 2026 with Buffalo being the main quarry. I have only heard great things about Wik and his family and team...... I can't wait!
