Hi All,
I am hoping someone can help me out with finding examples of a wall mount. I have no idea if there is a name for this particular style. Usually it is a Zebra or a Blue Wildebeest in wall mount like a shoulder mount with a full turn of the head, but instead of a plaque, the hide continues onto the wall as a background cut out in the shape of the continent of Africa. I appreciate your help. Smitty.

There are several examples of mounts like that on Splitting Image‘s website and their Facebook page. They are called 3D wall pedestals. Scroll to the bottom of this link for one example. I like them a lot!

Thank you Sir, that is very close to what I would like, and knowing they are called 3D Wall Pedestals is a big help. Thanks again, and good hunting!

3D WALL PEDESTAL ?

Thank you. Almost exactly what I am thinking of except the hide would completely cover the wooden part so you only see the Zebra. Now I have something to go on. I saw a Blue Wildebeest mounted like that and it was exceptional. I would love to have one done that way. I just found one example and it said "Wall Pedestal with Africa Shield."

Thank you! Both the Zebra and Gemsbok are excellent examples of what I am looking for. I find it refreshing from the standard shoulder mount and truly beautiful.

thanks for your reply bob , is it feasible to build a 444 on a P14/M17 , or is the no4 enfield easier to build? i know where i can buy a lothar walther barrel in 44, 1-38 twist , but i think with a barrel crown of .650" the profile is too light .
