Hello all, few years back I purchased a 375 H&H caliber W.J.Jeffery bolt action from Griffine & Howe. From markes could say The gun born and raised in Affrica. This my daily Africal rifle. I tried to chase the serial number # 28738 by calling reputable gunsmither in country and W.J. Jeffery and Holland & Holland in UK with no luck. there is initials engraved on oval as
H.C.S. assume is the abrivation of the first owner's name.
Any how I appriciate any information regarding the year it's been made or the owner can identify his rifle.

Do you have pictures you could send us? This could give some more clues

So you won’t send pictures of your rifle? I think you will find info regarding it a bit thin if all you can do is point us to the manufacturer. Best of luck to you…..
He wasn’t the o.p. The guy you quoted just pointed the o.p. In the direction of where he can find the info he’s after.

sorry for the delay, here are some pictures, there are couple modifications, adding Griffine and Howe side mount for using scope, also adding crossbolt by myself to strenghten the stock. also the stock came with original metal plat rather than recoil pad. The original Maouser safty also replaced.
