Hello.
In a few weeks we will be traveling through Scotland for 2 weeks. I am still looking to fill some mornings or afternoons. We will arrive in Newcastle port and drive straight through to Scotland. We stay each time a few days in the same area: Loch Lomond, Loch Ness/Lochy and Skye.
I am by no means looking for a hunt and we also want to avoid the big cities of edinburgh and glasgow. But a range, estate, shop in between could be a welcome change for an hour or two. Day hikes and rest and relaxation in nature are the main theme of the trip and some castles.

Are there any good hunting-related experiences in this area?
I was already thinking about John Dickson, but need to find out more.

Thanks anyway in advance.

Am betting you already know of the Luss Coffee shop and the Loch Fyne Fish Market as well as the Rest & Be Thankful rest spot in that area. Wife is a native Scott and we always make time for those places.
There is Dalgleish near Glasgow, J Russell F/A Ltd J Russell Firearms near Bath and Graham Mackinlay & Co in Dumbarton as well.

Are your hotels already booked? We had a heck of a time figuring it out a couple of months ago, and just got home from Efteling Park in the Netherlands and we stopped in Belgium on the way home. Headed to the Alps tomorrow.

Last winter we were able to book all of our sleeping accommodations. Mostly on farms. Barns as well as luxury tents. The Efteling is also something we are going to do soon.

Thanks for the tips. Some we had already seen pass by. The others are definitely worth checking out.

We stayed at their hotel Wonder. Wasn't Disney, but the crowd was smaller. Only saw one transvestite, and he was a teenager with his family. So hardly the crowd that Disney draws in California and Paris. If you have little kids Efteling is lacking in the entertainment for the mid-range kids between 8-14. I am old and broken and doing 20 big rollercoasters isn't my idea of fun. Too many back surgeries. The little kids stuff is good. Food is really bloody average.

The Haunted House is proper scary, none of this Disneyland cutie but kind of scary stuff.

Personally I think Paris is the gayest of all Disney parks, but it is not as offensively gay with as many trannies as Las Angeles is. Orlando is downright normal compared to LA. Also the high volume of meth heads in LA is awesome!

Paris Disney hotels are ok, but pretty expensive. Watch the dates around American thanksgiving week for some super deals, and you get the full Christmas regalia. Beat the Christmas crowds. We were there on Thanksgiving a couple of times and it was very good. They are doing a big refresh that ends in 2026 sometime. So I'd wait if you have the time. Frozen land, I have 4 daughters so this is their franchise.

Have not been to other parks in France like Asterix and Obelix or others.

Europa Park kicks ass. Stay on park, it's easy.

How in the World did Disney come into the conversation Lol?
Guy is asking about specific areas in Scotland

I'd highly recommend reaching out to Winston Churchill Stalking, they are based out of Dunoon. They my fit you in for a bit of Roe Buck stalking with an estate rifle provided. Getting out on those hills is amazing.

Have a great trip.

You might want to head to Ben Nevis for a hike.

This is why I started the conversation. Efteling is a theme park in Holland.

De sure to fit in Oban and the famous distillery right in the town. The seafood restaurant down on the wharf is the finest I have enjoyed.
Also the royal yacht Britannia moored in Edinburgh, worth a whole morning. Take note of the Queens swb Land Rover.

Scotland is one of the most beautiful countries I have ever seen. Scottish Highlands is a must. There is a day tour on bus that departs out of Edinburgh which my wife and I enjoyed thoroughly. I would at least swing by Edinburgh for an afternoon. Some incredible historical architecture there.

Just wanted to say thanks for the excellent customer service. Ordered some 9.3x62 brass and the delivery was a little short. An email through your website Contact Us link was replied to the next day with the tracking info for the correction. Good pricing coupled with great customer service will see returning customers every time. Thanks again!
