I have 80 rounds of RWS V-mantel left, I can't seem to find a lot of information on the bullet.

Seems like it is a FMJ lead core bullet that acts like a Nosler partition. I have heard mixed reviews.

I pulled a few to look at them, and they look ok. I don't have a lot of hunts every year where I could use such a bullet, and I am going to take them with me to Eastern Europe and shoot cull stags and pigs with them next winter.

Pressure seems pretty low, speed is low, recoil is less than my TOG Brenneke ammo.

I bought them as a case lot from someone, as he advertised they were all TOG's then this BS shows up.

Pain to deal with it, so I figure I paid new brass price for loaded ammo, I'd just shoot them into paper and reload if nothing else.

Anyone ever use them? What are they really like?

Old ammunition that is no longer manufactured. The bullet is thin-walled and no longer meets today's standards for FMJ bullets used for hunting DG. I also have some of these bullets for reloading my cartridges 9,3x64 Brenneke. I would keep the cartridge in reserve in case one take a rifle caliber 9,3x64 to Africa. You can shoot a buffalo with it; I have done something with similar FMJ bullets from DWM, but there are better FMJ bullets of this caliber nowadays fur such purpose.

I will probably just shoot them into paper.

Do you think they are too hard to use for cull work in Hungary on red hinds, fallow hinds, and wild boar?

I would not use this bullet for that purpose. This bullet was originally designed for hunting heavy dangerous game. Its design is somewhat stronger than that of match bullets or bullets for shooting varmints.

You might have edited your post on the PH in the Bubye. I know the PH and is a wonderful person and a fmaily man and runs a succesful business in Zim and just doesn't want the attention that the internet offers, the ugly kind.

Hello,

Am I reading your post correctly to say that the Tsavo rifle will be coming out with a composite stock later this year? I ask because I had been looking very hard for a Tsavo, but if there is going to be a composite stock model I will wait for that.

Thank you for your time,

Andrew

Saw your post. Nice. Denver too. Genesee area (just off 70) if ever up this way. Alternatively, do you have a membership at GGC? Whatever, you'll have a wonderful time in Africa. Enjoy.
