Can anyone explain the desire & price increase regarding Ruger's RSM? Any advice, comments, thoughts, etc..
Many Thanks! When this was introduced in coordination with Hornady's 458 Lott Ammo. I believe the MSRP was $1850 in 2003. I shelved it long ago, less than 20 rounds at best?

I'm curious if it hasn't been a result of the end of the CZ 550. Lotts in general have always struck me as kind of strange in the snap up phenomenon. The #1's are no kind rifle to shoot and yet when they hit the market they are gone faster than a $100 bill on a NY sidewalk. The RSM was yet another of Ruger's value priced luxury lines that sadly have been destroyed by the bean counters.
The only limitation I have heard expressed about the rifle is the fact that it doesn't feed the big meplat solids so well.
My advice is to hold on to it if you can. It's not eating much apparently and you always have a rifle of great power available to you.

I did actually once reach on the phone one of Ruger’s men who handled aspects of their bolt rifles and the 458 Lott in-specific, back when I considered a purchase of the concluded rifles. I made it a habit to contact who I could on the inside, phone call being cheaper than money spent! (I’d even spoken to G. Prechtl on the phone once and filled out some German export forms in ordering parts for mailing to Florida in an abundance of caution on a purchased rifle.) The Ruger fellow mentioned parts were no issue for replacement but that often enough they had repairs on the bolt guns’ wood due to stock damage from recoil and that was about the only trouble those rifles gave if at all. Years ago I think there were as many available on the 2nd market as today, maybe one two infrequent.

If you are asking how much you should ask for it, $3000 minimum. You can always go down.

At are about 3000 + is what it is going for on Gun Broker.

Do you have any cull hunts available? 7 days, daily rate plus per animal price?
