Ruger No 1

Greetings Skye,

Khomas Highland Hunting and Fishing Safaris of Namibia, welcomes you to the greatest forum on earth.

When you have a spare moment, please do tell us a bit about yourself.

The Ruger No. 1, ya that’s a good one, totally under priced for what it is, IMO.
That design is definitely a favorite of quite a few members here.
Even yours truly is quite fond of them.
The very first caribou that I ever bagged, was with a vintage No.1, with Leupold 2.5x fixed powered scope.
It was in caliber .375 H&H, loaded with the now sadly discontinued Winchester factory loaded 270 grain “Power-Point” semi-spitzer bullet.

Cheers,
Velo Dog.

:S Welcome:

Welcome.
Ruger No.1 45-70 I sold a No.1S-C 45-70 earlier this year, a Lipsey’s with a 26” C weight barrel. That one was 1 of 250 made.
Do you want a 22” or 26” barrel?
Some of the newer 45-70’s have a shorter leade and either won’t chamber or have a hard time chambering 400 grain and heavier bullets. Ruger knows this and insists the rifle is set up right.
If you have not looked it up visit Classic Sporting Arms. Also visit, harder to find http://www.classicsportingarms.com/ruger-no-1-rarity-tables/

Everyone always thinks about the worst thing that can happen, maybe ask yourself what's the best outcome that could happen?

Do you have any cull hunts available? 7 days, daily rate plus per animal price?
