The Rigby Zambezi. Apparently this purchase gets me into the Rigby ledgers, will have to suffice until I can get hold of a Highland Stalker...

I really need to organise a visit to the London best shops… only visited Purdey’s so far, which was quite a treat!

Are there any special advantages or extra’s involved by being in their ledgers? Or is it mostly bragging rights and your name being forever archived in connection with Rigby? Which are both good reasons of course! :)

But a gorgeous knife it is!

Just the pretentiousness of it really :giggle:

Lovely knife and the Rigby showroom would be nice to visit.

But all those aspiring to buy a new knife should know that Von Gruff has a book. The order book and he will take your name if you would like to order something.
He also supplies a certificate with his.
There is also a Von Gruff brag board thread.
Congratulations on the Rigby. It will serve you well

Nice, but I assume not made by Rigby, just marketed by them.

Looks to me as not a hunting knife, but more your typical british Bushcraft knife.

I would rather order from Von Gruff for a real hunting knife, and I am sure save some money too :ROFLMAO:

Just placed an order with him yesterday, VERY pleased to have my name in there along with all of you fine gentleman who’ve ordered from him as well! Great company to keep!

Any of you that live in the Houston area, Gordy and Sons stocks certain models of the Rigby knives. It has been two years since I was there so I don't know which models they may have now. You can order direct from Rigby the same as ordering from a U.S. business. Exchange rate is currently one British pound equals $1.38, so most of the knives are very pricey.

You may be right about the manufacture. A lot of manufacturing is outsourced as components or branded product. It's the world we live on.
I guess it's more about the prestige of owning a Rigby product. I wouldn't mind having my name in "The Rigby Ledgers".

Whether it's a Swarovski scope, a Blaser rifle, a Land Rover and a Pithy, a Mercedes or a Harley or a set of Courteney Safari boots a custom P17 .35 Whelen We like something that appeals to us or holds some prestige to the individual.

Von Gruff males great custom knives as do some other members like Gert who has shown his work here.

If any Aussies are interested Rigby branded Courteney boots and Rigby knives are available through Queensland Gun Exchange in Australia. Your gonna pay for the name but it's nice to have something nice and unique.

Beautiful knife, I definitely want one just for the brand on it. Von Gruff makes some wonderful knives and it is an AH prestigious list also! Lol

I bought the Damascus Kruger about 4 years ago. Ordered it direct from Rigby, That particular knife was made in Zimbabwe. I had to wait about five months before they had a shipment come into the London shop, and I believe it was a shipment of 24 came in at that time. I received mine, but they don't last long.

@425SCHADE
When I visited H&H I got a few free ear plugs and was able to look a a few high class double. Even an entry level 270 Winchester was £29,000.
The only thing I could afford was the ear plugs, well I hope they were free.

@CBH Australia
Give me a Von Gruff any time, better quality, personal service plus bragging rights.
Bob

What kind of steel is it?
You have to be specific. Rigby makes Damascus and Stainless. I am pretty sure Von Gruff does also. Your best bet is to go to the John Rigby web page, then go to knives. Von Gruff has a page also.

Hi Jay,

Hope you're well.

I'm headed your way in January.

Attending SHOT Show has been a long time bucket list item for me.

Finally made it happen and I'm headed to Vegas.

I know you're some distance from Vegas - but would be keen to catch up if it works out.

Have a good one.

Mark
