I've been out of the rifle market for a very long time and I need some advice...
When I return from the trip I'm on, (8 weeks in Alaska fishing and hiking), I'm going to sell two rifles. Recent searches to determine value / selling price haven't turned up much. Could anyone who had recently bought or sold similar guns recently give me some advice?
First is a Ruger RSM in .416 Rigby. It was purchased new and is in good condition. I put less than 200 rounds through it including barrel break in. There's a Nikon Monarch 1.1-4 x 24 illuminated scope on the rifle, The scope was mounted after aligning and hand-lapping the rings.
Second is custom .375 H&H built on a Montana 1999 action. It has a Zeiss 3.5-10 x 50 scope mounted in aligned, hand-lapped rings. The barrel is a McGowan and was hand lapped by the smith that built the rifle for me. The stock is a Carlson Medalist with full aluminum bedding block.
If priced realistically, what should I be asking for these weapons?
Thanks in advance for your help.
Please, no "off the wall" estimates or speculation. I'm asking for input from recent, first-hand buyers or sellers.
