I always wanted this Bowie model especially in Stag with the Stainless Blade...I intended to carry and use it in the field but I cant bring myself to do it..Just to dang nice! It has never been used or carried...I am told there is a several year waiting list especially on the more popular models such as this one. It has a 9" Stainless blade and a really great piece of Rugged Gnarly Stag.. Has the highly desired factory leather sheath..also comes in original padded zipper case by Randall..I have seen these on ebay upwards of $1600 (plus sales tax) $1275 shipped..No sales tax
I have many more pics if needed...

Seems a shame to sell it so soon when you posted the want ad only last month... Where'd you end up finding it? I've been wanting a Randall or two and if I can find 'em faster, I would.

Oh that's who I was looking at a few months ago! I was trying like hell to remember. Thank you!

Now do I want the stiletto, or do I want that MACV/SOG knife...

Well yes eventually lol. Stiletto would be a #2 8", stag concave handle, brass collar and probably a coolie cap, lugged or forward-curved brass guard. MAC-V/SOG is what I call a #14 with sawteeth (or sawteeth-no-sawteeth for a spear-point blade), green micarta border patrol grip, and either the standard or the forward-curved simple oval brass guard.

Decisions, decisions...

I have never understood while Randall knives have a such a strong following. Are the good knives, well yes; are they worth the wait or the price, no. Even worse are Ruana knives - check out prices on those these days. I remember when one could buy a new one for$25 - like maybe at Bob Ward's in Missoula. There are so many better knife makers out there today.

Thank god, my wife doesn't go for LV hand bags!

Heritage and Tradition.

Certain military units carried them extensively in Vietnam… until recently you’d still find significant numbers of Randall’s among the members of those units…

Bo Randall was one of the old school guild members that were synonymous with a certain style of blade.. much like Dozier or Loveless… he has been copied by many and influenced countless well known makers…

And.. as long as you’re willing to wait.. and the wait is indeed long… getting a new Randall from the factory really isn’t all that expensive compared to other quality makers prices…

I would not post something like this in a for-sale ad, but since it has been sold and since we are discussing the knives now...

I have had a couple of Randall's over the years. Model 14's were a weakness of mine for some time. In the time period that they were introduced, they were a really excellent knife. They are still good knives, but I do not think you can say they have value for the money. Many high quality knives today for very little money that simply didn't exist back then. Then again, if you want a Randall, nothing else will do.

I recently took a Case Western V-49 Bowie and reshaped it following directions from Bill Bagwell. It is now a much more functional knife than it used to be. I'm not saying it is the equal of a Randall. I'm just saying that I like it and it is a very inexpensive, pretty high-quality knife that now has high-quality design working for it.

Knives don't always have to make sense to want them, lol and they are worth what you will pay for them.

Chopped up the whole thing as I kept hitting the 240 character limit...
Found out the trigger word in the end... It was muzzle or velocity. dropped them and it posted.:)

2,822fps, ES 8.2
This compares favorably to 7 Rem Mag. with less powder & recoil.

{You will want a 1:8.5 to run the heavies but can get away with a 1:9}
Peterson .280AI brass, CCI 200 primers, 56.5gr of 4831SC, 184gr Berger Hybrid.

I know that this thread is more than a year old but as a new member I thought I would pass along my .280AI loading.
I am shooting F Open long range rather than hunting but here is what is working for me and I have managed a 198.14 at 800 meters.
That is for 20 shots. The 14 are X's which is a 5" circle.
