QD rings you like for a .375

Well I'll apologize because I'm sure there are threads with this topic but for the life of me, the search function isn't working on my computer on this site (could be me, could be the site, unsure). I have read a couple of threads about which scopes, etc. I know the scope i want to put on my Winchester Model 70 that I have ordered, but i don't know which QD rings can handle the recoil. Money isn't the problem, i'll only buy the best rings and they tend to cost like it.

What brands does everyone like and maybe, if you would be so kind, give me the exact model you have used and has maintained zero's. No aluminum or lightweight recommendations please. I don't mind the weight. Would you do levers? Would you do pivots? This is a bolt gun so i probably wouldn't/couldn't put claw mounts on there like i have on my drillings.

Thank you for the suggestions in advance! I am also open to the "forget it" and if your experiences have been that nothing will hold zero. I'm ok with that answer and i'll buy normal fixed rings.

Make certain you select the correct height for your scope bells to clear the barrel and the bolt lever to clear the rear bell. Call Talley and ask them the proper height rings for your rifle and scope combination.

Other people like the Leupold swing mounts.
On target rifles I use Warne mounts.

Warne work very well and are strong. But on my dangerous game rifles, I use Talley.

I have Recknagel swing mounts on my .375 H&H, had swing mounts on other rifles aswell, they works like a charm. Quite sure that it is Recknagel that NECG are selling in the US.

I had Alaska Arms QD rings on my .416Rigby and I loved them; I'll probably be using them again on my .375H&H that's at the smith currently.

+1 for Talley. I use them on my 458 win mag and have had no problems.

Talley with levers. Follow the written directions. Put levers on the right side of a right-handed rifle so they don’t get hung up on your belt or clothing when the rifle is slung on your right shoulder. Also when tightening levers, keep a bit of forward (towards the muzzle) pressure on the scope while tightening the levers evenly. This is the direction of recoil pressure on the scope and mounts since they are not part of the rifle. When fully tight, both levers should be pointing close to the exact same direction and as close to 12 o’clock as possible. Take a picture with your phone to save so you can refer to it. It is important to use the same method of tightening each time you reattach the scope so your sight-in zero is not affected.

I have Alaskan Arms in my CZ-550 in 375 H&H, and Ruger RSM 416 Rigby. Great products and have held zero after traveling halfway around the world and traveling 8 hrs on the wonderful roads of SA and the Kalahari. no issues.

I have x2 scopes that I regularly interchange on my Mod70 in .375H&H

• 1-4×20 zeroed at 50m

• 4-12×44 zeroed at 100m. This scope is paired with a silencer that goes onto rifle as soon as the scope is fitted.

I have full confidence in interchanging between the scopes knowing that I will not lose zero.

I use Talley rings on most all my rifles. I have not had any trouble with the QD rings going back to zero if I remove the scope and put it back on. I have the QD versions on my 375H&H, 416 Rem and 404Jeffery.

Maybe due to my patriotism as Warne began in Australia.

Talleys have a great reputation, but I prefer Warne and use Warne on my 375. Very happy with Warne, heavy duty and will return to zero in my experience. I took my scope off going into brush after a wounded baboon, then a couple days later made a 300 yard shot on a wildebeest.

I like the quality of both Recknagel and Talley QD mounts, but both are waaaaaayyyyy too high. Even their Low mounts are very high mounts. Must be a lot of giraffes shooting rifles…

I’m thinking of either having some Ruger bases made for a M98 and a M70 so I can use low Alaska Arms rings.

Have used Leupold Quick Release Rings (the ones with a single post) that worked perfectly on Winchester M70 in both 416 Rem Mag, 458 Win Mag and Remington 700 375 RUM with excellent return to zero. I use Warne on CZ550 416 Rigby and Brno 458 Lott with excellent return to zero. Have Talley QD rings on Winchester M70 375 H&H also works great.

Lately, I prefer Warne with weaver style for standard picatinny rails. I feel it’s a better and stronger set up, especially a one piece vs two.
As always, I’m a loyal fan of Murphy Precision rails, excellent quality.
Both brands will easily handle a 375 H&H, no worries.

Hmmm… my Talley bases and low rings are very low. Almost too low. Perhaps you got something labeled wrong?

I wouldn’t suggest a one piece rail for a DG rifle. Also not as clean looking.
