Im down at the ranch doing some work and took a few minutes to drive around. I started releasing pure Eurasian boar (aka Russian Boar) a while back. These are the real deal and will weight 350-500lbs. Very neat animals but definitely something one doesn’t want to mess around with. They have a fierce reputation for a reason.

You need to get a boat and head to Europe to take some off their hands. Then you could really stock up.

Right they’d probably gladly give me all I want.

Do they interbreed with the feral hogs?

They certainly could but there are no feral pigs inside the high fence.

We met some guides that specialize in hog shooting at the NRA Outdoor Show in Harrisburg PA this past February. We picked a guide and we're going to take a crack at night thermal culling of this type of hog. I've seldom had a chance at shooting at moving targets so it will be an interesting test. Not sure how I can prepare for that.

During the day deer hunting is available too. Not sure what shape I'll be in for deer hunting during the day after I've been up all night blasting hogs.

Story at 11.

Nasty looking critter! How long have you had these on the ranch?

A few months ago once the last feral pig was killed. It took roughly 3 years to eliminate all the feral pigs from inside the high fence.

I’ve done 3 releases since of these Eurasian pigs both sows and boars.

Great looking hogs Erik. Them biggins can soak up a lot lead.

Very cool!

Amazing we never saw one while hunting!

Good luck. I can’t see them as anything but something that needs to be killed ASAP.

Thank you for eliminating the feral pigs in your property though. I hate them with a passion.

I’d watch this one @gizmo. He may be plotting a takeover. Looks like Napoleon from ‘Animal Farm.’

Me's thinks I need to shoot one;)

Hi Jay,

Hope you're well.

I'm headed your way in January.

Attending SHOT Show has been a long time bucket list item for me.

Finally made it happen and I'm headed to Vegas.

I know you're some distance from Vegas - but would be keen to catch up if it works out.

Have a good one.

Mark
