Almost everyone who has been hunting in Africa at least once tells all first timers a variation on " You are going to go again, no one goes just once". Well I am proving that right. I'm headed back to South Africa, leaving on June 23, 2018. Using the same outfitter, hunting the same areas. I like the people and it is nice having a clue about the country I'll be hunting. On the "to do" list this time are: Kudu; because I didn't get one last time, Blue Wildebeest and Bushbuck; because they are just darn fun to hunt and Blesbuck; just because I think it would make a great trophy.
Well, time to start planning again!

Congrats on trip #2!!! I'm working on #4 now myself!

Going back this year for my fourth safari. By day two of my first safari I knew I would be going back.

Looking forward to your report!

I'm not that day specific but I agree. I was planning before I left.

Congrats!

I too was going to be one and done. Four seems to be a popular number though and I'm just trying to figure out if the money will let it be this year, or wait until next. Either way, it's coming.

I have to agree. I'm saving for trip #3 and that buffalo all ready! ;)

Where are you thinking of the buff at? There are some fine adventures out there!

welcome to the African hunting addiction group.

I was already planning on going back before I left for my first trip in 2012.
Reason? My wife asked me to take our son on the first trip for his college graduation present with the condition that I take her within 5 years of going.
She and I made it back 2 years later though in 2014.
She started giving me that look back at Christmas that she is ready to go again, though.

Good for you. I hope that this time you are lucky enough to get everything on your to do list.

Congrats to making the choice to go again. Thought the first trip was going to be the only time.....once in a lifetime trip. Now I'm going on hunt number five. I love it and it is addictive!

I have no clue yet, I'm just working on getting the cash together at this point. But you are very right, which is part of the fun! Thanks for stopping by!

I didn't think mine was a once in a lifetime, but I didn't count on how addictive it was. My response to the question "so when are you going back?" is "as soon as I can"! Thanks for stopping by!

I thought I'd do just one. Then I thought I'd hunt four other continents before returning. Now I'm working on going for a hippo and a hyena.
I guess I could have worse addictions!

Chopped up the whole thing as I kept hitting the 240 character limit...
Found out the trigger word in the end... It was muzzle or velocity. dropped them and it posted.:)

2,822fps, ES 8.2
This compares favorably to 7 Rem Mag. with less powder & recoil.

*PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS FOR MY RIFLE, ALWAYS APPROACH A NEW LOAD CAUTIOUSLY!!*
Rifle is a Pierce long action, 32" 1:8.5 twist Swan{Au} barrel
{You will want a 1:8.5 to run the heavies but can get away with a 1:9}
Peterson .280AI brass, CCI 200 primers, 56.5gr of 4831SC, 184gr Berger Hybrid.

I know that this thread is more than a year old but as a new member I thought I would pass along my .280AI loading.
I am shooting F Open long range rather than hunting but here is what is working for me and I have managed a 198.14 at 800 meters.
That is for 20 shots. The 14 are X's which is a 5" circle.

Have twice tried to post something that your site canned as "SPAM" or some problem.. "Contact the Administrator"... Not sure why even the "Contact" button would not send my comment so you only received my query but not the content in question. I'll see if I can get it to you this way... NOPE I use a VPN and perhaps that is causing me grief...
