Hello everyone. Thank you for taking the time to read my post. I'm currently a graduate student in the US but I will he graduating soon and returning to Tanzania. My brother and I occasionally go for a hunt as we were both raised in the Bush. I have always used a right handed rifle but I am left handed (could never find a right handed .375 h&h in Tanzania). Anyway, to cut a long story short, I found a really good deal on a .375 left handed Sako AV in the US and I am thinking of purchasing it. I am not familiar with the hoops that I will need to jump through in order to get this rifle permanently exported to Tanzania. I have asked some PHs back home regarding the paperwork needed on that end but I would be very grateful to get some guidance on what is required from the US end. Thank you for your consideration. Cheers.

You will have to ask an experienced US dealer. You might pose the question to @TROPHY SHIPPERS and see if they can help direct you.

Well no wonder you couldnt find a left handed gun, you were looking for a right handed gun. LOL.

:p

I don't know if this will help but a friend is a firearms manufacturer who uses this firm to export pistols to other countries including South Africa:

Polaris Logistics Group

I know of FFL Type 08 licensees who may import firearms into the USA. I wish I wish I knew more about exporting.

Best of luck to you!

Thank you. I will certainly contact this company and hopefully get some clear guidance. Thanks again.

You might also contact a large gun shop in Tanzania to inquire of them importing from the USA for you.

I would contact Gulf Breeze Firearms in Gulf Breeze, FL. They are the US Agent for Westley Richards and have probably imported/exported firearms to different countries.

I known good guy and Africa hunter posted on another forum;

"The few rifles I've had exported were handled by Griffin & Howe. They have a department that does that. It was about $1,200 as I remember, but that covers the export of 2 rifles."

Hi Jay,

Hope you're well.

I'm headed your way in January.

Attending SHOT Show has been a long time bucket list item for me.

Finally made it happen and I'm headed to Vegas.

I know you're some distance from Vegas - but would be keen to catch up if it works out.

Have a good one.

Mark
