Took a trip to the range today to do a final test with the loads I plan to hunt with in Zim. I reduced the powder charge on my Swift A Frame load by a grain and a half to 110 grains of H4831SC which is the same charge I'm running on my solids. Shoots to the same POI/POA. Fired a test pair at home at 50 yards and they were about 1.5" apart one almost over the top of the other so I loaded six rounds to take to the range and test at 100 yards, which is the limit I have set for that rifle. My standard for the hunting load being no more than 2" at 50 yards and keeping 4 or 6 shots within approx a 4" group at 100 which is best I can figure about the size of a buffalos heart.
I pulled the rifle out and loaded a pair of A Frames and laid the rifle across a sand bag I had put on a table that allowed me to shoot from a pretty stable rest while standing and I cranked off a well aimed right and left and this was the result. Now this was mostly luck, I fired the remaining four rounds and the group of six was approx the size of my hand, definitely minute of buffalo, but I should have put the rifle back in the case and went home after the first two.

Good Afternoon,
How firm are you on your Dakota 416? I am highly interested but looking at a few different guns currently.

Best,
BJ

What is the minimum you would take.

I have a Chapuis 450-400 double that looks brand new and shoots well, never been hunted from what I can tell. I am willing to part with it as I have a 375 H&H Sodia on it's way from Dorleac & Dorleac. I am looking for $9,250 for it and if you are interested, I am happy to send you some pictures. Regards,
Steve
