I think the U.S. hasn't had any coverage of the Olympic shooting events in the past, so there was little interest among the youth.
Now there are multiple ways to watch the Olympics and the shooting sports, including the Biathlon are being viewed by a much larger segment of the American population. This is bound to create a generation interested in forming teams and competing in this sport.
