I ordered several boxes of the 470NE Nosler solid ammo that was on sale recently. I'm trying to figure out what it is.

What I learned:

It is made in Sweden! Thus, we know it is Norma Brass, Norma Powder, Nosler Solid Bullet, Unknown Primer.

When I shake the cartridges, the powder is loose. No stuffing. Based on the shake test, I'm guessing but not certain, that the powder is Norma 203-B.

Does anyone have any insights on what powder it was? The Norma load data suggests 87.7gr of Norma 203-B, 105.7gr Norma MRP, 123 Grains Norma MRP-2.

I do not know for sure but at one time I read that when a powder company makes a batch of powder that doesn’t test or prove to a given powder that they sale it to ammo companies in bulk who in turn work loads to achieve end numbers for that specific powder. This would explain why off the shelf ammunition can very from lot to lot. So guessing exactly what powder my or may not be possible.
Just my opinion
Shawn

may I suggest Intaba Safaris in the East Cape by Port Elizabeth, Eugene is a great guy, 2 of us will be there April 6th to April 14th. he does cull hunts(that's what I am doing) and if you go to his web site he is and offering daily fees of 200.00 and good cull prices. Thanks Jim
