Looks like they are cancelling the PCR test requirement to get into RSA!

"No more PCR tests for the vaccinated to get into SA, Ramaphosa announces"

The key words in this press release is right here:

As long as you are vaccinated, that is. Those not jabbed will still need a recent test result.

I'm good to go if it stays that way but I know that there are others out there that have hunts planned that have not been vaccinated And then there are those who have had covid, recovered, and never got vaccinated who will still be in limbo land.

I have never had an issue with taking shots or vaccines. I am anticipating #4 (a second booster)related to Covid within a couple of months.

I’m worried they are going to require the booster to be considered fully vaccinated. I’m pretty committed to not getting anymore of these shots at this point.
It will go according to the WHO definition of fully vaccinated. I’m going to Spain next month, the definition of fully vaccinated remains same, but they require last shot to be within 270 days.

I am noticing a lot of countries going this route. It might very well be the same for here. Personally, I have only had the original two shots with zero boosters.

I am like a couple others. Does fully vaccinated mean boosters? I had first two doses but no boosters. I had a bad reaction from second shot and my doctors advise not to take boosters.

We saw that for Spain as well. We have a hunt for ibex booked for November. I have not heard of anyone getting a 2nd booster yet. We are going to keep watching and waiting as the rules change constantly. However, you are headed to Spain next month. Have you asked any of the clinics about a second booster for travel?

Safe travels

If the Ffizer gets approved it will be for only 65 and older. If the Moderna gets approved it will be for all adults. Both have requested approval. All my earlier shots have been Ffizer. I am 69 so either way, I get it.

Of course, the next possibility. "Up to date" could be coming.

On Monday, British prime minister Boris Johnson admitted that to be fully vaccinated no longer meant having two COVID jabs but rather three doses in order to prevent pandemic restrictions from being reinforced in the UK.

"Fully Vaccinated" will be determined by the destination country. These are the stipulations according to Canada. Might very well be different for Africa.

Marius, as I noted in my post: "International standard" is what the RSA policy refers to.

I have provided examples of two definitions of "Fully Vaccinated" USA's CDC and the Government of Canada.

Sadly, the WHO site did not have a readily available example to provide.

Each country may choose some other definition. Thus far, the world's governments have been following the recommended dosages for the various vaccines from the manufacturers, as directed by ongoing research.
Some countries do not recognize a variety of vaccines. Ensure that the vaccine on your proof of vaccination is accepted in your intended travel destination.

I'm sitting in OR Tambo now. Unvaccinated rebel. Had to do the PCR test to get on the plane... I think I've shown it 3 times now. Boarding for PE in an hour! Maybe have some powder burnt by sundown

It will all be over soon. He knows that there are many folks still not traveling due to restrictions. The travel industry is in his ear. Won’t be long now.

Hi Jay,

Hope you're well.

I'm headed your way in January.

Attending SHOT Show has been a long time bucket list item for me.

Finally made it happen and I'm headed to Vegas.

I know you're some distance from Vegas - but would be keen to catch up if it works out.

Have a good one.

Mark
