How good (or bad) is Nico van Rooyen Taxidermy, Pretoria? I would like to have a buffalo mounted, european style, which means the skull mounted on a wooden shield. Who has done it like that? Pictures very welcome.

They are one of the best on buffalo. Check out the taxidermy section in Peter Flack’s buffalo book. Their work is featured there.

They mounted the buffalo in my avatar. A pedestal mount and one of the best buffalo mounts I have seen.

I had a wonderful experience working with them but be very clear what you want. My buffalo was blind in one eye and they took the extra time to hand paint the eyeball smoky blue just like it actually looked. My warthog and baboon also came out excellent.

One of my buddies wanted a leather skullcap made from the buffalo scrotum and that got lost in translation. Now I have a buffalo scrotum champagne chiller which might actually be better in hindsight. I would use them again in a heartbeat.

I want something like this, without the carvings.

They will do just fine.

Had an excellent classifieds transaction with JoninCO. A truly honest and standup member. I wouldn't hesitate at all to deal with him again. Thanks, J!

Hi Lance, Hope you well. I collect Mauser rifles and they are very much part of my cultural history in Africa. Would you consider selling the rifle now a year on ? I'd like to place it in my collection of Mauser rifles. Many thx

I saw where you hunted elephant with backcountry safaris in Zimbabwe.
Was looking to book an elephant hunt and wanted to know how your hunt went
and if you would recommend them.

Thanks
Mike
hi, do you know about lions hunters, leopard hunters, and crocodiles hunters of years 1930s-1950s
I'm new to Africa Hunting. I would like to purchase a Heym 450-400 double rifle. I'm left-handed but would prefer a non-canted gun. Is anyone in the community considering parting with theirs?
