This big 2x3 blacktail was scoping out the neighbor kids 'construction site' today. This is a big bodied deer for this area, being the western Washington version of the mule deer, usually not very big.

Week ago there was two 3 pointers up the street munching away.

Nice rack but almost no brow tines?

Not always there and often very small. Below from B&C

If an antler lacks a brow point (G-1), as frequently happens in mule deer/blacktail deer categories, there can be only four normal points, including the main beam tip. Sitka blacktail deer sometimes fail to develop G-3 points, and thus resemble the usual 4×4 whitetail pattern with points arising from the top of the main beam.

Good explanation. Thanks.
I don't have any experience with blacktails.

That is a well fed brute! Hard for me to judge blacktail antlers having lived with mule deer all my life but that boy has a compact, well muscled and hefty body.

Hi Lance, Hope you well. I collect Mauser rifles and they are very much part of my cultural history in Africa. Would you consider selling the rifle now a year on ? I'd like to place it in my collection of Mauser rifles. Many thx

I saw where you hunted elephant with backcountry safaris in Zimbabwe.
Was looking to book an elephant hunt and wanted to know how your hunt went
and if you would recommend them.

Thanks
Mike
hi, do you know about lions hunters, leopard hunters, and crocodiles hunters of years 1930s-1950s
I'm new to Africa Hunting. I would like to purchase a Heym 450-400 double rifle. I'm left-handed but would prefer a non-canted gun. Is anyone in the community considering parting with theirs?
