Just went and picked up one of the new Marlin 1895 SBL rifles today. Ruger really knocked this one out of the park! I've owned and handled many Marlins in my time, and this one is nicer and more well finished than any of the older ones. Very slick action and feeds very smoothly. Haven't shot it yet, but will very soon. My internet is slow now, so pics to come later.

Congratulations ! My perception is that the new Ruger Marlin is a very well made rifle , I wouldn't mind owning one . I have one of the Remlin 1895s , luckily it is one of the better made ones and I have not had any issues with it . I look forward to hearing how it performs but thus far all the reports / reviews of the new Ruger Marlin have all been positive .

@TOBY458 I'll be interested in reading your opinion on the Ruger Marlin (Ruglin?). I don't know of anyone who has one yet, just read the write-ups in the gun rags.
I really hope that Ruger is successful with the Marlin line.

@TOBY458 where are the pictures buddy?

oh man I want one so bad! Impossible to get in Australia

Has Ruger rounded the edges on the loading port? Those sharp edges peel hide off your fingers sometimes. Glad to hear Ruger is doing it right.
As soon as you can we’d like a range report.
Thanks

Yes sir! They did a great job of polishing the edges. Very easy to load.

Been looking at those…. Hard to find. Guessing a supply & demand issue. Saw where they are going for over $2000!!! Crazy, the Henry’s are about half that.
