Hello All,

Does anyone know of a source for new Kynoch ammunition in the US? I have a project going on and I would like to have a few boxes for my leather rifle case, more for nostalgia than anything else. Talked to Mr Powell and indicated he no longer imports their product, would be willing to purchase a whole case if that what it takes.

I don’t believe Kynamco has an importer in the US at the moment. Could be wrong

Wishfulthinker,

Thanks for the reply. I thought that might be the case, disappointing that they would not want to do business here.

Keep an eye on Gunbroker, it should not be very hard to find.

Proneshooter,

Thanks for reply. I thought so too. There is plenty of the Flanged but no Rimless. Been checking everyday for months, GI too, no luck.

I cant believe they don’t want to do business in the largest firearm and hunting culture in the world or at least in the top five.

I remember when midway sold the modern kynoch ammunition. I would guess the $45 price tag on a five round flat pack has a lot to do with the lack of sales. Considering one could buy loaded Swift A frames for considerably less.
Some people will pay for cool, others won’t. (Unless it is “tactical”)

Hello Wyatt,
Yes, I suppose that true. It’s more for nostalgia and putting together a period correct project or as close as I can get. I also agree that modern bullets are way better than what is used in modern Kynoch ammunition. The woodleigh bullets are pretty good though.
Thanks

JP

I would say the modern Kynoch ammunition was very handy for old double rifles, where regulation is key. For some of the more obscure calibers, like 500-465 it probably was the only option for factory ammunition.

I always thought their tin waterproof “tropical pack” great.
Hello lockingblock,

I always thought those were a super neat thing as well. Great idea for long term storage, impervious to everything. I wish that being able to have it done was still a possibility. Would love to be able to get sealed packs of 10 to 20 cartridges, in a modern form.

I know it's not a new style box, and the price seems a bit high but here it is anyways.

Hello Proneshooter,

Thanks so much for taking the time to even look that up, very kind or you, appreciate it.

I was negligent in actually indicating what I was looking for. Stupid of me and I know it’s a long shot.

I am looking for the Kynoch Red and Yellow box in pristine condition, hopefully with no price tags or other detrimental markings. Need them to be 300 Grain. Prefer soft points but solids would be acceptable as well.
