Just took possession of an older Sako. A FN98 HI-Power in 30-06. The price was such that i could not resist. Thing is, at some point the LOP has been shortened to 12.5" rendering it almost unusable for me. Today i took off the butt plate and made a 3/4" hardwood spacer, but the interesting part is that there were 2 holes drilled into the end of the stock and both had rolled up papers in them. They are in Swedish, so i googles the translations. Not 100% accurate but one appears to be the shipping label from 1954 and the other one appears to be some form of Govt permission (license ?)n for the original owner, complete with Swedish mailing stamp.
Pretty neat stuff i think. If anyone here can read Swedish and is interested, let me know and i will pm them photo's of the documents. Love finding stuff like this.
