This is not an article per se, but it is an interesting video reposted by Craig Boddington on Facebook. I thought it would be worth a share. I am watching as I type this, so I do not have a final verdict.

I watched it the other day and my take from it is that it highlights the complexity of elephant conservation, that combined with the human population expansion spells difficult times ahead for conservation in Africa. The fact is that something has to be done, as seen in the documentary a decline or deterioration in habitat spells the end for many species. Culling programs was a controversial answer but based on the science and figures(that has in recent years fallen by the wayside) they had at the time they made predictions and acted accordingly.

But, some interesting facts and to me at least, some food for thought....

I've been thinking more and more about the conservation aspect of it all. I was born in the wrong time, too much civilization and not enough wilderness.
