NAPHA has recently been inundated by phone calls from various “Namibian Telephone Directories” to inform us that it is time to renew our contract with them.
Unfortunately, NAPHA has been listed with one or more such organization in order to lend legitimacy to their activities and we hereby wish to inform all members that we neither support nor condone these organizations and hereby advise all our members to steer clear of these web directories unless you are sure of their legitimacy.
In many to most cases, this is a scam being operated out of South Africa (primarily from Durban and Cape Town) to fool you into believing that you are renewing your subscription for a Telephone Directory entry, which is NOT the case and these individuals / organizations then want you to sign a contract binding you to a year or three.
If you have received any such calls, or have succumbed to this scam, please attempt to obtain as much detail from the caller as possible, as well as copies of contracts sent to you and forward to napha@napha.com.na. We are currently compiling a list of such individuals and organizations who conduct such scams so that, as per advice given, we can lay criminal charges against said parties.
