NAMIBIA: Return For Damara Dik Dik With KHOMAS HIGHLAND HUNTING SAFARIS

Congratulations on the dik dik. We missed the turning off the main road and Philip was driving luckily we didn't go to far.
Thank you!

Your amazing report of Damara dik dik is part of the reason I went on this road trip from Philips. Looks like I even used the same little .22 as you did a few years ago.

@dchum, sincere congratulations on your Dik-Dik quest and all of your other trophy animals. Always hate to read of unfavorable weather conditions during a hunt. Thank you for sharing your report and photos of the trip. I'm seriously considering Namibia for my next trip, and reading your hunt report is steering me further in that direction, having never been there.
I appreciate the kind words.

I think you would enjoy Namibia as a country. Don’t hesitate to ask me any questions.

Will do, thank you and congrats on an excellent trip!

Congrats on a tough little trophy! The little Damara's is big on my list as I get into the final half of T10. I don't have this trip booked yet but really appreciate you posting your experiences. They are such an awesome trophy with their little mohawk haircut.

It was a fun hunt and adventure. I can’t wait to enjoy your report one day soon for a Dik Dik.

You always have great hunt write ups!

Waidmannsheil! Great trophies. Next time I'm in Namibia I'll definitely go hunt the Damara Dik Dik. Thanks for sharing your story. It was a pleasant read.

Thank you very much! I look forward to hearing your story about that hunt one day.

The kudu were just starting to rut. About half the time we saw a cow/cows she had a bull bushing her. So late may seems to be a decent time for wester Khomas kudu rut.

Here is a video of a kudu bull both @JINKLE and I passed on…
I kind of regret it now. The trackers and PH really wanted us to go after him. His body was huge and he was pushing cows all puffed up.

What do you all think?

Excellent! Juan is an awesome dude and of course you have to love the Kudu bar!

We saw some decent kudu bulls along the trip and @JINKLE took the first mature bull we saw as it was his first hunt and I thought that was a good game plan for him.

I was going to shoot a bull only if it was truly exceptional. Not that I’m picky, just not where my budget was this trip. The bull would have gotten me really excited…

Well 7 days after we get back home from our hunt; look what my tracker Santos pulled out of the mountains… you never know what you will find on these mountainous cattle ranches. Could have been us!

Congrats to this hunter. Not sure where he was from.

Incredible! @KHOMAS HIGHLAND HUNTING SAFARIS
Seeing this bull would have had me adding a kudu to the bill no doubt lol

Sad, young bull with good genes we found dead, most likely rabies as it was near water hole.

A wonderful French hunter we shared camp with the last 2 nights with shot this great bull. Beautiful classic shape and a few inches over 50. Just perfect

@JINKLE bull was with 3 cows and was working them hard. The rut was on and was getting more active as we were leaving. This bull had a great big neck and was acting like a rutting bull does. Kudu hunting in central Namibia is not easy. There is not a high number of animals but you won’t find shooter bulls every day. It is very rewarding and you never know what will show its self. Grey ghost…

Hi Lance, Hope you well. I collect Mauser rifles and they are very much part of my cultural history in Africa. Would you consider selling the rifle now a year on ? I'd like to place it in my collection of Mauser rifles. Many thx

I saw where you hunted elephant with backcountry safaris in Zimbabwe.
Was looking to book an elephant hunt and wanted to know how your hunt went
and if you would recommend them.

Thanks
Mike
hi, do you know about lions hunters, leopard hunters, and crocodiles hunters of years 1930s-1950s
I'm new to Africa Hunting. I would like to purchase a Heym 450-400 double rifle. I'm left-handed but would prefer a non-canted gun. Is anyone in the community considering parting with theirs?
