Well folks, my long awaited and much anticipated hunt with my friend @JKO HUNTING SAFARIS had to be postponed at the last minute. This was my choice to do so, after a lot of thought and weighing the pros and cons of still going, I decided to cancel due to the Ebola outbreak spreading its way down towards Entebbe. It had previously only been much further north of Entebbe and the hunting camp, but in recent days had spread.

After a lot of discussion with a few trusted friends/AH members, as well as Jacques, I decided to postpone this hunt. Jacques has already offered a few dates for me to chose from. I will most likely go back in February or March. Jacques was very informative and answered all my questions even though it was late in the evening there.
He has 1 more hunter scheduled after me, and I hope that hunter also postpones so Jacques can get home sooner as well!

While I went from and extreme high to and extreme low of knowing I would have to wait to go on this once in a lifetime hunt, I along with my family feel its the right move.

Join me in wishing Jacques a safe and healthy time for the next few days or weeks that he will be there!

Finally I want to thank Jacques @JKO HUNTING SAFARIS for his professionalism and his willingness to immediately work around a crazy event like this. He is a good friend, an amazing outfitter, and great PH!

Sorry to hear. No animal is worth risking life in that situation.

Tough decision. I hope you are able to reschedule soon.

There's no international trip I wouldn't postpone in order to avoid a disease like ebola. It's a nasty one and easily spread.
Sometimes we build things like a vacation up in such a way that we lose sight of the the good things like being healthy and the ability to make intelligent decisions. Hopefully it will clear up and you'll be good to go next year with only a few months delay. Just one more building block and story to your once in a lifetime trip.

I say you made a wise decision. Hopefully everyone at JKO stays healthy and all of Uganda beats this quickly.

I think you made a wise decision. I hope everyone is able to make it home and that this outbreak fizzles out quickly.

Sorry to hear that brother, know it is a dream trip! But looking forward to the report when you do make it.

Bummer! If it aint one damn thing its another!

You’ll get there eventually and you’ll have a great time without that scenario looming over your head.
