Safari Club International’s 46th Annual Hunters’ Convention Jan. 31 – Feb. 3 in Las Vegas, NV was a huge success as members from around the world gathered to celebrate hunting and support wildlife conservation by raising over $15 million for mission programs.

“It is difficult for me to find the words that accurately describe how absolutely awesome the SCI Convention is,” exclaimed SCI President Paul Babaz. “Those who were at this year’s Convention in Las Vegas know what I am talking about. Those who were unable to attend missed one of the greatest get-togethers SCI has ever known. Beyond all of the superlatives, and there are many, that can explain the magnitude and importance of the Convention is the fact that hunter pride and pride in SCI permeated the entire event.”

“When you talk to the members at the Convention and see their enthusiasm and support of SCI, there is no question that we are on the right track to see both SCI and hunting grow even bigger and better in the future,” said SCI President-Elect Steve Skold. “We look forward to the next Convention in Reno. I invite everyone to bring the whole family. After all, SCI already is our extended family and the more that young people are involved, the better for all.”

All gathering under a single roof at the Las Vegas Convention Center to book hunts, meet old friends and shop for the latest guns, hunting equipment, art and accessories; more than 20,000 SCI members from more than 100 countries visited the 2,300 booths of more than 1,000 exhibitors at the SCI Convention this year.

Dozens of informative and educational seminars provided attendees the opportunity to learn new hunting techniques or refine old ones, discover imaginative ways to prepare wild game, or to glean tips on the best care for their equipment and gear.

Topping evening events was a rousing address by Chris Cox of the National Rifle Association’s Institute for Legislative Action.

The SCI Convention serves as the organization’s largest fundraiser and membership drive. Silent and live auctions for outstanding hunting adventures, guns, gear, artwork and jewelry combined to raise over $15 million. Nearly 2,500 new members were added during the convention. Funds raised during the SCI Convention will be used to support hunter advocacy and wildlife conservation. In addition, funds will also be used to support the protection of hunters’ rights and ensure hunting access for future generations.

The 47th Annual Hunters’ Convention will be held Jan. 9 – 12 2019, in Reno, NV. Save the dates for the greatest hunting show in the world.

What a great way to kick off our 2025 hunting season in South Africa.

This beautiful Impala ram was taken at just over 300 yards, took a few steps and toppled over.

We are looking forward to the next week and a half of hunting with our first client of the year.
