MRC 416 Rem Mag dying for someone to take it home and kill a Cape Buffalo with it.
.
The gun has a laminated stock with Pachmayr Decelerator pad, fiber optic front sight, QD bases and rings and the barrel/action is teflon coated. The person got it from swore it had never been fired, that he bought it and put it in his safe after having it customized, waiting for a Cape Buffalo hunt that never happened. When I look at the bolt face and action and barrel, I can see zero evidence that it ever has been fired...all look pristine. But maybe...maybe not. I know I have not fired it.

But even if it has been shot, it can’t be very many shots.

It is near mint condition other than one small dent on the right side if the stock and a few small scratches on the left side (see pics) that is how it came to me. Probably safe/storage oops. :E Shrug:

I am only selling it because I have another .416 that I love and would rather use the money toward another hunt.

I will ship in a (cheap) hard plastic case inside a carton.

$2500 shipped to lower 48 (only)

I have a MRC 99 in 404 Jeffery. I don't have quite the budget for fine firearms some of the dudes here have, but of all the guns I own, my MRC has far and away the best trigger. The break is so clean and crisp, it really is kind of a challenge to anticipate recoil. The action is also butter smooth. I like mine quite a lot.

Yes, I am truly torn about selling this one. I have not even fired it. But the action is very smooth and trigger nice, just like you describe.

I already had a .416 Model 70 Safari Express that I just took a Buff with in RSA but saw this and fell in love with it. But honestly don't get enough DG hunts in to justify two 416s.

When I got my first 416 I told myself I would sell my .375 Super Express that I took my first Buffalo with to pay for the .416 Safari Express....but just couldn't sell it. And I justify keeping the .375 in that I can take it as a all-purpose backup to the .416 on a DG hunt and can use it for other large things that are not real DG (Moose, Eland, Nilgai, etc)

Nice Rifle.

Only issue I had with mine was feeding different makes of ammo. Montana smoothed it out, the trigger is crisp and one of the very best coming from the factory.

Yea, this is as low as it's going. I got a couple ideas for this gun if it doesn't sell.

With the laminated stock and teflon on the metal it will be the ticket for foul weather moose (2026) and if I am ever that lucky brown bear. Next best thing to stainless/synthetic but more weight to soak up recoil and provide balance.

Reza Call me any time you want to talk about Elephant. hunting and CMS.
I've hunted two Elephant with CMS.
In 13 African safari's and an equal number of North American hunts, BUZZ is the best guide I have ever hunted with.
